Jessica Mauboy to host That Blackfella Show on ABC this NAIDOC Week – Jessica Mauboy will take centre stage this NAIDOC Week, with the Australian music superstar announced as the host of ABC’s returning First Nations variety special, That Blackfella Show.
The one-night event returns on Wednesday, 8 July at 9.10pm on ABC TV and ABC iview, promising another celebration of Indigenous storytelling through comedy, music and unforgettable performances.
A celebration of blak excellence
Following the success of its inaugural outing, That Blackfella Show returns as Australia’s first-ever First Nations variety program, bringing together some of the country’s most exciting Indigenous talent for a special NAIDOC Week event.
Stepping into hosting duties is Mauboy, one of Australia’s most successful recording artists and entertainers, whose career has spanned music, film and television.
Her appointment adds further star power to a programme designed to showcase the richness, diversity and humour of First Nations experiences.
A stellar line-up of talent
Joining Mauboy for the special are an array of acclaimed performers and rising stars from across the entertainment industry.
The musical line-up includes Baker Boy, Dyagula and Drifting Clouds, while Ian Zaro, known for The Traitors and Nude Tuesday, joins the festivities as the newest tearoom custodian.
Audiences can also expect a fresh batch of comedy sketches, including the return of fan favourite Aunt Kerrie.
Meanwhile, acclaimed rapper BARKAA will make her acting debut as part of the evening’s entertainment.
