Follow the Case of the Accused Mushroom Poisoning Killer in New Podcast Series – The ABC’s true crime podcast offering has expanded today with the release of Mushroom Case Daily, a podcast dedicated to covering one of the most anticipated court cases in recent memory.
This new podcast follows the case of Erin Patterson, who stands accused of serving a Beef Wellington laced with poisonous mushrooms to her unsuspecting guests. The 49-year-old has been charged with three counts of murder and five counts of attempted murder. She maintains she is innocent.
The podcast, hosted by ABC’s Court Reporter Kristian Silva, promises to bring listeners the key moments and revelations as the case unfolds. With a keen eye for detail, Silva will guide audiences through the intricacies of the judicial process, offering clarity on legal procedures and terminology to ensure everyone can follow along.
Podcast episodes will be released every day that the case appears in court.
As the case makes its way through the court system, there will be sporadic episodes at first, covering any mention in court, and extra episodes to help the audience understand the process. If it goes to a full trial in the Supreme Court, the podcast will provide daily updates.
“At the heart of this case are three people who lost their lives, Don and Gail Patterson, and Heather Wilkinson. Heather’s husband, Ian, also endured a long stint in hospital after attending the lunch,”
– said Silva.
“This case has captured the attention of the world, and I’m looking forward to ensuring that listeners will have a complete understanding of the case, all the way through to the final verdict.”
