Flower & Flour returns to ABC for Season 2 – Flower and her feline best friend Flour will return for another 39 episodes after the ABC and Screen Australia greenlit a second season of the Australian children’s series.
Seven-year-old Flower, Flour and their much-loved plaza crew will be back for more imaginative adventures, new friendships and everyday problems that become much bigger through the characters’ creativity. New faces will also join the community when the series returns in 2027.
The renewal follows a strong first-season response. The ABC says Flower & Flour is its number one premiere commissioned series for Children & Family in 2026, with Season 1 averaging a total audience of more than one million viewers per episode across ABC TV and ABC iview.
Imagination remains at the heart of Flower & Flour
Flower & Flour is built around the idea that fun and adventure can be found in ordinary places. A regular afternoon can become an urban safari, while a hot summer day can inspire an imaginary snow day.
The stories also find comedy in small childhood challenges. A simple cure for hiccups can spiral out of control, while an attempt to ban the word “bro” creates more chaos than anyone expected.
Alongside the laughs, the new episodes will continue to explore experiences familiar to young viewers. Flower and Flour will learn about sharing, deal with missing a grandparent and help to save the Festival of Holi. The pair’s perseverance, creativity and willingness to accept help from family and friends remain central to the programme.
Creator Dan Mansour said the audience response to the first season had made a second run possible.
“I’m so thrilled at the response for season 1, with kids and their families across Australia embracing the wonderful world of Flower & Flour. And now we’re whipping up another 39 episodes filled with fun times, heaps of heart and a whole lot of cheekiness!”
ABC backs a successful Australian children’s series
ABC Head of Children and Family Melinda Wearne said Australian families had embraced Flower, Flour and their vibrant community.
“We’re delighted to bring audiences another season of playful adventures and heartfelt moments in 2027.”
The renewal is significant for Australian children’s production because it gives the creative team another substantial 39-episode order and extends the life of characters that have already connected with families across broadcast television and ABC iview.
Patrick Egerton, Executive Producer and Chief Creative Officer at Cheeky Little Media, said the team entered Season 2 with momentum after the programme’s debut.
“This is a beautiful, authentic and funny show, with characters you love spending time with, so the stories just keep flowing.”
Screen Australia Director of Narrative Content Louise Gough said the first season created a warm and playful world that reflects the vibrancy and diversity of the Australian community.
“We’re delighted to see Flower & Flour return following its joyful first season. Creator Dan Mansour and Cheeky Little Media have created a warm and playful world that reflects the vibrancy and diversity of our Australian community and inspires wonder in little viewers and their families across the globe.”
