ABC Your Say 2026 launches national audience project – The ABC is launching ABC Your Say 2026, a major audience engagement initiative designed to connect with communities across Australia.
Running for eight weeks from Monday, 20 July 2026, the project will invite Australians to share the issues, challenges and opportunities shaping their lives this year.
The ABC says ABC Your Say will use its local presence in communities to hear directly from audiences nationwide. As a result, the insights gathered will help shape journalism across ABC News, Audio, Digital and local platforms.
The initiative builds on the ABC Your Say project used during the 2025 federal election, when tens of thousands of Australians asked questions and identified the issues of greatest concern before they voted.
ABC Your Say 2026 to shape coverage across Australia
According to the ABC, the 2026 project will help inform editorial commissioning, investigations, interviews with decision-makers and stories that better reflect diverse voices from around the country.
At a time when trust matters more than ever, ABC Your Say reinforces the ABC’s role as a public broadcaster that listens as well as reports.

Field said the project would bring Australians directly into the national conversation and help reflect what matters most to them.
Meanwhile, audiences will be invited to take part through ABC Digital platforms. ABC Local Radio stations will also head into communities across Australia to listen to local voices and facilitate conversations about the issues that matter where people live.
News Breakfast joins the national tour
ABC News Breakfast will take part in the project with a national tour, broadcasting live from a different location every Friday morning.
The tour will begin in Newcastle before travelling to Launceston, Mount Isa, Gawler, Darwin, Fremantle, Brisbane and Melbourne. At each stop, the News Breakfast team will host a community event with local ABC teams.
Ultimately, the ABC describes ABC Your Say as a nationwide invitation for Australians to help shape the conversations that matter most.
