ABC 2027 Upfront: Fisk season 4 brings back Helen’s brown suit – Fisk season 4 is coming to ABC TV and ABC iview in 2027. Kitty Flanagan will again play Helen Tudor-Fisk, the probate lawyer whose awkward encounters and dry wit have made the comedy one of the broadcaster’s biggest recent successes.
For viewers, this is a new season rather than a replacement cast or a spin-off. Five familiar performers will return alongside Flanagan, and the previous three seasons are available to stream now. The ABC has not yet announced a specific 2027 premiere date or weekly broadcast time.
The announcement formed part of the ABC’s wider 2027 showcase. While the broadcaster is introducing six new scripted dramas next year, the renewal gives its line-up an established Australian comedy with a proven audience on both broadcast television and ABC iview.
Helen is in charge – but business is booming
The brown suit is back, and Helen is now in charge at Gruber & Fisk – at least in theory. The “First Ladies of Probate” model has brought in so much new business that she struggles to keep up. There is even talk of turning the firm into a franchise. The ABC is promising more sharp wit, uncomfortable encounters and the warmth beneath the office’s eccentricities.
Julia Zemiro, Aaron Chen, Marty Sheargold, John Gaden and Glenn Butcher will reprise their roles. The new season will also include surprise guest cameos, although the ABC has not named those performers or revealed further plot details.
Flanagan, who co-created, co-writes and co-directs the series, looked forward to returning to the show’s familiar Melbourne location.
It’s wonderful to be back and we can’t wait to start filming again at our “offices” in North Melbourne. With any luck, we might even be able to convince Melbourne City Council to give the tram tracks on Errol Street a once over with some WD40. It’d be nice to have just a little less screeching from the number 57 tram every time it rolls by.

Why the ABC is bringing Fisk back
The ABC says seasons one, two and three are the three most-watched non-children’s programmes ever on ABC iview. Viewers have watched almost 10 million hours of Fisk on the service. According to the broadcaster, episodes across the first three seasons have each reached audiences close to three million, with season-on-season growth. It says season three became its number-one non-children’s programme of 2024. Those figures draw on OzTAM’s combined metro and regional panel, VOZ National TV and BVOD data, and VPM minutes through September 2026.
ABC Head of Scripted Rachel Okine said the series had also won multiple Logie and AACTA awards.
Few Australian comedies have connected with audiences like Fisk. It has become a defining ABC success story, setting viewing records on ABC iview, attracting millions of viewers and earning widespread acclaim, including multiple Logie and AACTA awards. Across three outstanding seasons, Kitty and Penny Flanagan have created a series that is distinctly Australian, universally relatable and consistently hilarious. We’re thrilled to welcome Helen Tudor-Fisk and the Gruber & Fisk team back for another season.
