SAS: AUS v ENG on Channel 7 S6E5 – Through the night one recruit’s resolve fractures. In the morning as their spiralling mental battle reaches crunch point, they face a big decision.

The remaining recruits are immediately launched into an explosive, high-pressure task from the centre of a hostile zone. Dragging 200kg of cumbersome kit across unforgiving terrain whilst under fire, they’re pushed to their physical limits. For one recruit, the weight isn’t the only burden – under the DS’ watchful eyes, their leadership skills crumble under pressure.

Another makes the mistake of ignoring Foxy’s orders and receives a blistering takedown. Back at base, the medic room becomes the setting for another departure as a recruit reaches their physical limit. With numbers dwindling, the pressure intensifies. The DS escalate the stakes with one of the most critical missions a Special Forces operative can face: a hostage rescue.

Working in pairs, recruits must infiltrate a booby-trapped building, retrieve a laptop, locate and rescue a hostage, and escape before detonation. Some spot the traps. Some find the intel. But one pair choose to defy Chief Instructor Billy’s explicit instructions—triggering his fury and the immediate stripping of an armband.

As the scorching North African day finally fades, the recruits are subjected to a final bonding exercise: emotional video messages from loved ones. For a brief moment, the toughest course of their lives gives way to vulnerability—and renewed resolve for what lies ahead.
