SAS: AUS v ENG on Channel 7 S6E2 – It’s phase two of the course, and Chief Instructor Billy is determined to strip his celebrity recruits back to their core. To understand what really drives and breaks them, he turns to course psychiatrist Dr Gareth for a psychological deep dive into the personalities now under his command.
Then, on the parade square, Billy reveals a rare piece of his own story, showing how a self-described misfit fought his way into the heart of the Special Forces. The recruits are immediately thrust into their first major test of nerve: a high-stakes, life-or-death scenario in a hostile enemy compound with consequences that are chillingly close to home.
Under the crack of gunfire, they must decide in a split second whether to fire or hold their nerve. Who will stay sharp under pressure – and who will crumble in the fog of war? Then comes a challenge designed to expose their deepest fears: a suffocating 230-metre crawl through pitch-black, mud-choked tunnels behind enemy lines.
Some recruits panic and are dragged to safety by teammates; another is hauled out when their terror becomes overwhelming. As the DS hunt for true character, they end the day with a brutal beasting that pushes the exhausted group past breaking point.
Under the intense pressure, one recruit quits, handing over their armband. With bodies spent and morale shaken, the question hangs in the air: who will walk away next and who has the grit to survive?
