JOHANNA – THE SALVAGE YARD HOUSE
Building your own home isn’t the most eco-friendly undertaking, so it’s a great idea to reuse and repurpose where and when you can. This week, Johanna’s meeting a couple whose taken that logic to the extreme. Mat and Anna own a salvage yard in the Victorian country town of Castlemaine and they have built their own home on site entirely out of reclaimed materials, right down to the appliances. From a light fitting made from a canoe to an exterior made up of old street signs, Mat and Anna have used old objects in creative ways…and the finished result is a real stunner of a home. They’re taking Johanna on a tour of their digs and, along the way, they’re proving that the benefits of turning the old into something new are truly endless.
COLIN – PORK FILLET WITH JERUSALEM ARTICHOKE & PARMESAN PUREE
If you ask Colin, winter is the best season of the year. Why? Because of all the delicious produce of course! This week, he’s cooking up one of his favourite winter veggies: Jerusalem artichokes. Pureed with onion, garlic, thyme and parmesan, it’s the perfect accompaniment to a tender pork fillet. Served with a burnt butter, sage and hazelnut sauce, who needs spring and summer when you’ve got dishes like this?
DR HARRY – BLOWER BITER BULLDOG
Homeowners Tam and Dan finished renovating their dream home among the gum trees, in Sydney’s northern beaches, in 2021 and the finished result is everything they ever dreamed of. But the trees they love so much shed leaves everywhere…and Tam and Dan’s Aussie bulldog, Lou Lou, hates it when they try to clean those leaves up. Lou Lou attacks the leaf blower every time it’s turned on, turning simple garden maintenance into a total nightmare. Dr Harry’s here to help…but can he convince Lou Lou the leaf blower isn’t as bad as it seems?

It might be an old-fashioned plant, but Charlie will show you how great it can look in a modern garden.
