Seven Perth records massive growth in first half of 2026 – Seven Perth has delivered a strong first half of 2026, with audience growth across news, sport, entertainment and streaming.
The network has strengthened its position as Western Australia’s #1 commercial television network. Seven’s commercial total TV share now sits at 55% in Western Australia.
7NEWS Perth leads the market
7NEWS Perth continues to dominate as Western Australia’s #1 nightly news bulletin.
The bulletin delivered a total TV audience of 183,000. It also finished well ahead of its nearest rival.
In addition, 7NEWS Perth recorded the strongest audience growth of any commercial news bulletin. It increased 24% year-on-year in the key 25 to 54 demographic and 14% in all people.

AFL and cricket drive Seven’s result
Seven’s AFL coverage remains a major part of its success in Western Australia.
The coverage has reached more than 1.96 million West Australians so far this season. AFL total TV audiences have also increased 33%.
Streaming has delivered another major lift. Viewers streaming AFL matches on 7plus Sport have increased 174%.
Fremantle Dockers and West Coast Eagles matches are averaging 130,000 total TV viewers. Seven says strong engagement has come through its local commentary team and expanded pre and post-match programming.
Cricket has also delivered standout results.
Seven’s Summer of Cricket produced the highest-rating Test series ever on the network. The Ashes series attracted 17% more West Australians than last summer’s victory over India.
Meanwhile, the Big Bash League recorded 14% year-on-year audience growth. The Perth Scorchers’ BBL Final victory reached 313,000 people across Western Australia.
Entertainment and breakfast perform strongly
Home and Away remains Western Australia’s #1 free-to-air drama, with a nightly audience of 137,000.
The special episodes that showcased iconic Western Australian locations proved especially popular. As a result, the long-running drama achieved 30% year-on-year audience growth.
Seven’s broader entertainment line-up also connected strongly with local audiences.
Farmer Wants A Wife lifted 29% year-on-year, while Australian Idol reached 1.3 million West Australians across the season.
At breakfast, Sunrise achieved a daily audience of 59,700 West Australians. That result placed the program 221% ahead of its nearest competitor.
7plus continues to grow
7plus has continued its rapid growth in 2026.
Minutes streamed have increased 63%, while monthly active users have grown 12% year-on-year.
