Recap | Dancing With The Stars on Channel 7 and 7plus S22E7 – Semi-Finals showdown. Olympian Harry Garside bows out of Dancing With The Stars
Tonight on Seven and 7plus, the remaining four celebrities from the first group gave it their all in the Dancing With The Stars Semi-Finals, with Olympic boxer Harry Garside saying goodbye to the dancefloor.
With their freestyle performances in sight, the stakes were higher than ever as each couple hit the floor determined to secure their place in the Grand Finale.
Harry opened the show with a steamy Mad Max inspired Tango. While the judges agreed the style wasn’t his’s strongest, they praised his effort and commitment to the performance before scoring him 20 points.
AFL star Trent Cotchin continued to impress with a sassy Cha Cha. The judging panel scored Trent 34 points and were unanimous in their praise, as Mark Wilson declared the routine “Grand Finale worthy”.
Brittany Hockley slowed things down with a graceful waltz, inspired by her long-distance romance.
The emotional routine, which earned 35 points, struck a chord with the judges, with Sharna Burgess telling Brittany she’s truly “turned into a dancer”.
Closing the night, Michael Usher and Natalie Lowe tackled a high-octane jive to Tina Turner’s Proud Mary. While the judges appreciated the performance, they felt the technique slipped, with Craig remarking it was “beyond his capabilities”. Michael scored 19 for his performance.
Before the results were announced, fans were treated to a thrilling performance by superstar dancer and judge Sharna Burgess.
With the audience vote combined with judges’ scores, it was Harry Garside and partner Siobhan Power who were sent home. Reflecting on his journey, Harry said: “it’s been so much fun it’s such an amazing process. To share this with Siobhan, and to learn how to dance from her, like how cool is that? So fingers crossed it helps my boxing, I’m sure it will.”
