Hit drama Murder in a Small Town is back with a new season starting Tuesday, 30 September, streaming from 6.00pm on 7plus and 9.00pm on Seven.
As one of 7plus’ most popular series, the first season of Murder in a Small Town reached more than 3.1 million viewers.
In the eagerly awaited second season, Detective Karl Alberg (Rossif Sutherland) is settled in Gibsons, but the quiet coastal town continues to reveal its dark undercurrents. As new crimes test his world-class detective skills, Karl must also navigate the shifting dynamics of his relationship with librarian Cassandra Lee (Kristin Kreuk), whose career and community ties pull her in unexpected directions.
As Karl’s jurisdiction expands, he takes on an increased caseload with limited resources.
That includes a murder at a wedding between feuding families, a double kidnapping that conceals a larger crime, and a stalker targeting a pop star on retreat.
Academy Award-winner Marcia Gay Harden (Pollock, Mystic River, The Morning Show) joins the cast as Mayor Christie Holman. a beloved community figure and savvy political operator whose personal interests often complicate Karl and Cassandra’s lives.
The new series also welcomes an impressive line-up of guest stars, including Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winner Camryn Manheim (Law & Order, The Practice), Tyler Posey (Teen Wolf), Jamie Chung (Lovecraft Country), Noah Reid (Schitt’s Creek), and Sara Canning (The Vampire Diaries).
