Huge Easter weekend of sport on Seven and 7plus Sport – Huge Easter weekend of sport. AFL, horse racing, athletics and surfing action live and free on Seven and 7plus Sport
The Seven Network is set to welcome a massive weekend of sport across the Easter long weekend, with blockbuster footy, horse racing, athletics and surfing for fans to enjoy live and free on Seven and 7plus Sport.
The first stop of the World Surf League’s Championship Tour reaches Torquay, Victoria, as the world’s best surfers descend on Bells Beach for the 63rd annual Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach.
The longest running event in competitive surfing, the first event on the World Surf League (WSL) calendar will feature the biggest names in the sport, including 2025 WSL Women’s
Championship Tour World Champion Molly Picklum, fellow Aussie Jack Robinson and international stars Italo Ferreira and Caity Simmers.
Stephanie Gilmore, the eight-time World Champion and surfing’s greatest competitor of all time is also back for this year’s competition. Gilmore has been awarded the WSL Championship Tour Season Wildcard, which will grant her entry into full-time competition on the 2026 Championship Tour.
The 11-day event period, which will determine who wins the event and rings the iconic bell trophy will be held from Wednesday, 1 April, to Saturday, 11 April, live and free on 7plus Sport from 8.00am AEDT.
The 2026 AFL Premiership Season continues into Round 4 with Thursday Night Footy, with the reigning premiers Brisbane taking on Collingwood in a rematch of the epic 2025 Preliminary Final.
Both teams have had up and down starts to the year and will be looking to get their 2026 seasons back on track, with Seven’s star-studded team in Hamish McLachlan, Brian Taylor, Rebecca Maddern, Luke Hodge, Kane Cornes, Nick Riewoldt and Mitch Cleary set to bring fans all the action from the Gabba live and free from 7.00pm AEDT on Seven, 7mate and 7plus Sport.
The following day will see the return of the Good Friday SuperClash, as North Melbourne takes on Carlton at Marvel Stadium, live and free from 3.00pm AEDT on Seven, 7mate and 7plus Sport. The annual Good Friday matchup between the two teams has raised over $2 million for the The Royal Children’s Hospital’s Good Friday Appeal since its introduction in 2017. The match will lead into 7NEWS at 6.00pm.
Then from 7.00pm, celebrating its 69th year on Seven, Good Friday Appeal 2026 sees prime time host Larry Emdur alongside Johanna Griggs and 7NEWS Melbourne’s Peter Mitchell, Rebecca Maddern, Jane Bunn, Mike Amor, Karina Carvalho and Tyra Stowers, joined by a galaxy of stars from Sunrise, The Morning Show, Home and Away, The Voice Australia, The Chase Australia, Better Homes and Gardens, 7NEWS, 7SPORT and 101.9 The Fox, plus some of the country’s most-loved musicians, athletes and comedians for the iconic telecast.
The football action continues across the Easter weekend as Melbourne takes on early flag favourites the Gold Coast SUNS on Sunday afternoon from 2.30pm AEST, before the footy continues on Sunday night with the Western Bulldogs taking on Essendon from 7.00pm AEST, both matches will be live and free across Seven, 7mate and 7plus Sport.
The huge weekend of footy concludes with the iconic Easter Monday clash between modern day rivals Hawthorn and the Geelong Cats in front of an expected sell-out crowd at the
MCG. The highly anticipated matchup will wrap up a monster weekend of sport across the network, with the match available for fans live and free on Seven, 7mate and 7plus Sport from 3.00pm AEST.
The Autumn Racing carnival continues on Saturday, making its way to Royal Randwick for the Championships Day 1, as well as at Caulfield for Easter Cup Day.
Known as the Grand Finals of Australian racing, The Championships see the best thoroughbreds compete for over $25 million in prizemoney across two consecutive Saturdays.
Three-year-old filly Sheza Alibi is one of the most exciting horses in the country and the one to beat in the $4 million Doncaster Mile with superstar jockey Jamie Melham on board, while
in the $3 million TJ Smith Stakes over 1200m, Briasa defends his title against speedsters Tentyris and Joliestar.
Fans can catch all the action across the next two Saturdays from 12.00pm live and free on Seven, 7two and 7plus Sport, featuring horse racing’s #1 commentary team in Bruce McAvaney, Jason Richardson, Emma Freedman, Lizzie Jelfs, Katie McDonald and Shane Crawford from Randwick.
The horses won’t be the only ones tearing up the turf on Saturday, with one of the world’s most famous and prestigious foot races–the Stawell Gift–returning to Seven.
American sprinting sensation Sha’Carri Richardson, the Olympic and World Athletics Championships gold medallist, will make her Stawell Gift debut, hoping to light up regional Victoria and win the event with no handicap advantage, something Gout Gout could not achieve at the 2025 event.
The iconic event will see the race heats live and free from 8.00am AEDT on 7plus Sport on Saturday, 4 April and Sunday, 5 April, with the finals to kick off a huge Easter Monday of sport live from 11.30am AEST on Seven, 7mate and 7plus Sport.
The Stawell Gift follows the Maurie Plant Meet in Melbourne, which saw Lachlan Kennedy claim victory over Gout Gout for the second consecutive year in the 200m final on Saturday night, with 1,142,000 people tuning in across Seven and 7plus Sport. It all leads into the Australian National Athletic Championships which start on Seven and 7plus Sport on Thursday, 9 April, then, the 2026 Glasgow Commonwealth Games are set to be a must watch event on the Australian sporting calendar on Seven across July and August.
