Nine months after the young boy vanished without a trace in South Australia’s remote outback, the mystery surrounding his disappearance remains unsolved, despite one of the largest missing persons investigations in Australian history.
In a major exclusive, 7NEWS Spotlight features the first public interview with Gus’s grandmother, Josie Murray. Identified by investigators as a key suspect but never arrested, Murray speaks publicly for the first time about the impact the investigation has had on her life and reflects on the day Gus disappeared.
The special investigation is led by 7NEWS Spotlight host Michael Usher alongside 7NEWS Adelaide crime reporter Hannah Foord, who has followed the case closely since the beginning.
The programme examines key elements of the investigation, including tracks and signs discovered during the search, questions surrounding the early stages of the case and whether important evidence may have been overlooked.
Michael Usher said the interview could prove significant in understanding what happened to Gus.
