JOHANNA + PETE – A VIEW OF CROWS NEST
Great restaurants, a village-like atmosphere, stunning heritage homes plus it’s close to the city and some of Sydney’s best beaches…what’s not to love about Crows Nest? Johanna and Pete are visiting this gem on the lower north shore to find out why it’s so beloved by locals and how it’s changed over time. As Sydney’s population grows, apartment blocks are springing up everywhere in Crows Nest and it’s changing the demographic of the suburb, as well as the house prices. So should this suburb be on the list of places you’d love to live? And is it affordable? Johanna and Pete are finding out.

ADAM + CHARLIE – WINTER ENTERTAINER
If you purchase an old property, you should expect to find a few surprises…and that includes in the backyard! When new homeowners, Jacqui and Brad, started investigating their backyard, they found some very old slabs of broken concrete. And although they’d love to get rid of it, they’re worried about the costs involved…and what might be hiding underneath. Adam and Charlie are here with a clever solution: they’re creating the perfect outdoor space on top and over the old concrete slabs…and the finished result is the perfect space for outdoor entertaining. With a deck, firepit area, gardens, paved dining area and a cooking corner, what once was a problem area has turned into a major opportunity.

COLIN – GNOCCHI WITH RAW BABY BEETROOT & CHESTNUT SALAD
Making your own gnocchi might sound overwhelming, but it’s a lot easier than you might think…and the finished result tastes so much better than the gluey stuff you get from the store. Colin’s making green gnocchi, which get their colour from the sage, parsley and rosemary added to the dough. Served in a brown butter sauce with capers, lemon and more sage, once you taste this, you’ll never eat store-bought gnocchi again!
DR HARRY – GIOTTO THE SKATEBOARDING BULLDOG
Move over kids…there’s a new name at the skate park and his moves are unlike anything you’ve ever seen! This week, Dr Harry’s meeting up with a social media sensation who has taken the world by storm. Giotto the Aussie Bulldog loves to skateboard, and he’s built up a huge following doing it online. Recently, Giotto’s career took a bit of a backstep when he swallowed a corn cob and ending up needing surgery. But he’s back and Dr Harry can’t wait to find out: what skating moves can you perform with not two, but four, legs?!

CLARISSA – MATCHA WHITE CHOCOLATE & MACADAMIA BROWNIE
It’s the craze that’s taking over Australia and finding it’s way into everything from smoothies to lattes, ice cream and everything in between. Matcha is a finely ground tea powder that’s been around for centuries…and it’s really having a moment. If you’re a fan, Clarissa’s sharing the perfect recipe. Her brownies combine matcha powder with white chocolate and macadamia and they’re gooey, fudgy and absolutely delicious.

GRAHAM – THE MOORINGS
NSW’s Southern Highlands is known for being the home to some of Australia’s very best private gardens. So it says a lot that The Moorings Garden really stands out amongst them. Found on a 100-acre farm, this four-acre garden is foliage-focused to create year-round interest. With several garden rooms, an ornamental pond and probably the best display of topiary conifers in the district, this is a must-see garden and Graham’s been given a very special invitation to explore it.
JULIET – CURTAIN CALL
Nice thick curtains are great for blocking out light at night, but that means they’re also good at blocking out light during the day. Juliet has a great trick to give you the best of both worlds, allowing you to control the level of light in your room, as well as giving it a luxe look on a budget.
