7NEWS Tasmania reveals team for Hobart move – Andy “Tubes” Taylor to join Kim Millar on flagship 6.00pm bulletin
Tasmania’s #1 news service today announced beloved presenter Kim Millar will anchor the 7NEWS Tasmania flagship 6.00pm weekday bulletin when it moves to its new home in Hobart from Monday, 25 May.
Millar will present Mondays to Wednesdays, while current weekend presenter Michael Maney will step into an expanded role, helming the Thursday to Sunday bulletins.
Award-winning Triple M breakfast radio host Andy “Tubes” Taylor will join the team as weekday sports presenter. Taylor has been a familiar voice in Tasmanian sport for more than a decade and will bring his trademark energy and deep local knowledge to 7NEWS audiences each night. He will continue in his radio role at brekky.

Millar, one of the most respected journalists in Tasmania, has led the 7NEWS Tasmania 6.00pm bulletin for more than four years. She will commute to Hobart for her presentation duties and said she remains deeply committed to ensuring Tasmanian stories are told.
“It is so important Tasmanian voices continue to be heard,”
– she said.
“I’m passionate about my home state and proud to continue leading our team of Tasmanian presenters at 7NEWS.
“This on-air line-up, alongside our exceptional team of journalists and camera operators right across the state, gives viewers confidence that Tasmania remains front and centre when it comes to local news,”
– Millar said.
“I’m also looking forward to, for the first time, working alongside Tubes, whose enthusiasm for sport is infectious. He’ll be living and breathing it from Triple M in the morning right through to 7NEWS in the evening.”
Taylor said:
“I’m incredibly proud and excited to be joining 7NEWS and talking about something I’m so passionate about – sport – right across Tasmania.
“I’m also really looking forward to working alongside Kim Millar and Michael Maney and having a bit of fun along the way.
“I’ve been lucky enough to be around community sport for a long time, and it means a lot to be able to share those stories – not just the big national moments, but the local clubs, players and volunteers who are the heartbeat of it all,”
– he said.
“The future of sport in Tasmania is really bright. You can feel the momentum building, especially with the growth of women’s sport and new AFL, AFLW, NBL and WNBL teams on the way.”
Seven Network Director of Regional News, Paul Patrick, said:
“We’re thrilled with the calibre of the team leading 7NEWS Tasmania as we move into this next chapter in Hobart.
“Kim Millar is a trusted and respected figure for Tasmanian viewers, and with Andy ‘Tubes’ Taylor alongside her, we’re bringing together a line-up that combines experience, local connection and genuine passion for the state. This team ensures 7NEWS will continue to lead the market with strong, locally focused coverage.”
Millar and Taylor will present their first 6.00pm bulletin from the new Hobart studio on Monday, 25 May, alongside 7NEWS weekday weather presenter Kiah Wicks. Rick Marton will continue as weekend weather presenter.
