2025 Alinta Energy Christmas Pageant lights up Perth – Relive the magic on Seven and 7plus.
The CBD came alive on Saturday night as crowds packed St Georges Terrace for the 2025 Alinta Energy Christmas Pageant, one of Western Australia’s most cherished festive traditions.
From 7.00pm the city transformed into a glowing corridor of colour as more than 2,000 performers marched, danced and glittered their way toward Langley Park.
Celebrating their 40th Anniversary with 7NEWS, much-loved presenters Rick Ardon and Susannah Carr waved to crowds from the festive 7NEWS float alongside Samantha Jolly and Ryan Daniels.
Star power was out in force, with Home and Away favourites Ada Nicodemou, James Stewart, Tristan Gorey and Kyle Shilling drawing huge cheers as Summer Bay rolled along the Terrace.
Children’s entertainer Emma Memma dazzled on her vibrant rainbow float, while Fat Cat delighted fans aboard his signature big red car.
7NEWS Reporter Rachel Tassicker sparkled as the Snow Princess, with Sunrise Presenter Tina Altieri and 7NEWS Reporter Nick Overall charming the crowd as the King and Queen of Hearts. Ben Cousins had crowds roaring as he waved from Peter Pan’s pirate ship as Captain Hook.
In classic Grinch fashion, he couldn’t resist trying to create a moment of Christmas chaos, but WA Police swiftly stepped in, staging a good natured ‘arrest’ and parading him off in the back of a paddy wagon to the crowd’s absolute delight.
The evening reached its peak when Santa arrived direct from the North Pole, greeted by thunderous applause as he appeared alongside 7NEWS Reporter Jerrie Demasi.
This year’s event once again showcased the strength of the partnership between Alinta Energy and Channel 7, supported by the City of Perth, the WA State Government, The West Australian, Containers for Change and Home Group WA, delivering a free, family-friendly celebration for the community.
Seven West Media WA CEO, Maryna Fewster said:
“The Alinta Energy Christmas Pageant is one of WA’s most loved traditions, and seeing families come together in the heart of the city, full of excitement and Christmas spirit, is truly special.
“We’re proud to continue bringing this incredible event to audiences in WA and across the country – whether they were cheering from the street or reliving the magic on Seven and 7plus.”
Alinta Energy Executive Director, Retail Markets, Chris Campbell said:
“Being part of this iconic community event is something that we are passionate about. We’d like to thank every performer, volunteer and attendee for such a safe, joyful and memorable night.”
