22nd Annual SPA Awards – Lifetime Achievement Award Recipients – Today, Screen Producers Australia (SPA) are pleased to announce that Deborah (Deb) Cox and Fiona Eagger – founders of Every Cloud Productions – will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 22nd Annual SPA Awards, taking place at The Star Gold Coast on Thursday, 21 March 2024, as part of SCREEN FOREVER 38.

Founded in 2009 and harnessing both Deb and Fiona’s talents,  Every Cloud Productions cemented their individual reputations for excellence, building a platform for the development of female-led stories and creating a constant stream of acclaimed film and television content for broadcasters and platforms at home and abroad, including the ABC, SBS, Seven Network, Nine Network, Stan, and Acorn TV.

The duo co-created and produced three seasons of the international award-winning runaway success, Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, which has sold to more than 170 territories around the world. Under their supervision, Every Cloud Productions has gone on to become one of Australia’s foremost female-led production companies, having won prestigious SPA Awards, including the Screen Business Export Award in 2017 and the Telemovie or Mini-Series Production of the Year in 2022.

Both are also responsible for creating the AACTA Award-winning Deadlock, Indigenous drama series The Gods of Wheat Street, the hilarious Christmas Ransom, legal drama Newton’s Law, the heart-warming A Sunburnt Christmas and the reboot of the much-loved SeaChange (with ITV), and the edgy drama Eden, both filmed in the Northern Rivers.

As a creator, producer, and writer, Deb has helped create some of Australia’s best-loved productions bringing joy to audiences for decades. Before co-founding Every Cloud Productions, Deb began her career at Crawford Productions in Melbourne, later becoming Head of Drama for Artist Services and co-founder of CoxKnight Productions which created feature film, Dead Letter Office, three seasons of ABC series, SeaChange, Ten Network drama series CrashBurn, and children’s series Worst Best Friends.

With over three decades of experience and talent for balancing creative, entrepreneurial and production expertise, Fiona, also, is a powerhouse producer, and her co-creations include two seasons of the spin-off series Ms Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries as well as the successful theatrical feature Miss Fisher & the Crypt of Tears.

Fiona’s early career included working with feature director Paul Cox and Crawford Productions before producing her first series for SBS television, Ark of Gondwana, and later the 13-part ABCTV series Mercury.

Fiona’s long-standing collaboration with Deb Cox began when she produced the TV series CrashBurn and later was the executive producer and producer of two seasons of East of Everything. Other Producing credits include acclaimed telemovies The Society Murders, The Informant, Small Treasures and the award-winning feature films Only the Brave and the Cannes Directors’ Fortnight selection Mallboy.

With a commitment to industry leadership, including mentoring of the next generation of young creatives, and to sharing outstanding Australian stories with audiences globally, the Award is a celebration of Deb and Fiona’s long-standing partnership and a testament to power of female-led businesses. The achievement will be celebrated with friends and peers at the upcoming SPA Awards, the annual celebration of screen production excellence.

Entry to the ceremony and Gala Party is included in a SCREEN FOREVER 38 Gold Coast Pass.

SPA has released a limited number of tickets to the ceremony for SPA members and non-members, not registered as Gold Coast pass holders to SCREEN FOREVER 38, providing an enticing opportunity to anyone with a passion for storytelling to celebrate Australian stories on screen.

The SPA Awards tickets will also include entry into the SCREEN FOREVER Gala Party to be held immediately following the Awards Ceremony.

With limited tickets remaining, delegates are encouraged to register early to secure their spot at www.screenforever.org.au.
