Seven’s summer of cricket heats up with BBL Finals

Every Finals match live and free on Channel 7 and 7mate

Following a star-studded season, Australians are in for an absolute treat on the Seven Network over the next week, as the Perth Scorchers, Sydney Sixers, Melbourne Renegades, Sydney Thunder and Brisbane Heat fight to the finish in this year’s Big Bash League Finals.

Kicking off with tonight’s Eliminator between Sydney Thunder and the Brisbane Heat, live and free from 7.00pm AEDT on Channel 7 and 7mate, the winner of the do-or-die clash will progress to Sunday evening’s Knockout, against the mighty Melbourne Renegades.

With a host of international cricket’s biggest names featuring in this year’s finals, Australian Test stars Usman Khawaja and David Warner will be on fire in what looks to be an explosive Eliminator tonight at the Sydney Showgrounds.

It’s a must-watch on Saturday night, when Seven heads west to see the dominant Perth Scorchers take on the Sydney Sixers at Optus Stadium from 7.00pm AEDT on Channel 7 and 7mate, with Seven’s own Justin Langer on deck to commentate the all-important match featuring the team he previously led.

After an explosive season from the former Australian cricket captain, Steve Smith will be at his best on Saturday night when he lines up for the Sixers. Off the back of making 328 runs from four innings with scores of 36, 101, 125 not out and 66, Smith will be looking to take his team straight to next Saturday night’s BBL|12 Final.

Then, on Sunday afternoon, Australia’s much-loved women’s cricket team will battle Pakistan in the final Women’s T20 match, direct from Manuka Oval, live and free on Channel 7 from 1.30pm AEDT, before the Melbourne Renegades take on the winner of tonight’s Eliminator from Marvel Stadium at 7.00pm on Channel 7 and 7mate.

With every BBL|12 Finals match and the final Women’s T20 match broadcast live and free on the Seven Network, cricket fans are covered for the next eight days, with Seven’s stellar commentary team at the helm – headlined by Ricky Ponting and Justin Langer, and including Greg Blewett, James Brayshaw, Trent Copeland, Callum Ferguson, Holly Ferling, Damien Fleming, Brad Hodge, Mel McLaughlin, Alister Nicholson, Lisa Sthalekar, Kirby Short and Elyse Villani.

Matches in week two of the Finals series will be held at the home venues of the teams that have earned the right to host by finishing first and second on the ladder.

These teams are Perth Scorchers (Optus Stadium) and Sydney Sixers (Sydney Cricket Ground).

Fans can also tune into Seven for the glittering Australian Cricket Awards on Monday evening from 7.30pm AEDT on 7mate, where the Allan Border Medal and Belinda Clarke Award will be awarded to this season’s best men’s and women’s player, respectively.

Seven’s own Mel McLaughlin and Jason Richardson will host the evening, while Erin Holland and Chris Green deliver all the dazzling glamour and fun from the Blue Carpet on Australian cricket’s night of nights.
