FIBA Men’s Basketball Cup 2023 on ESPN has Boomers in do or die clash

FIBA Men’s Basketball Cup 2023 on ESPN – Australia’s hope of progressing to the second round at the FIBA Men’s Basketball World Cup 2023 hang in the balance as they tackle Japan in their final pool game LIVE on ESPN at 9pm AEST Tuesday.

After an impressive opening win against Finland, the Boomers fell 85-82 to Germany in their second game of the tournament on Sunday. The defeat leaves Australia level in second place in Group E with Japan, setting up a high stakes final pool game on Tuesday evening.

Japan showed their potential with a 98-88 victory over Finland to draw level with Australia, the pair sitting a point behind Group E leaders Germany.

The Boomers have been guilty of slow starts in the tournament so far, and can no longer afford any missteps,with games becoming win or bust from here on out at the FIBA Men’s Basketball World Cup 2023.

Defeat against host-nation Japan will see Australia’s dreams of a first ever medal at a FIBA Men’s World Cup disappear.

ESPN’s coverage of the FIBA Men’s World Cup 2023 also offers up some blockbuster showdowns, the highlight being the United States clash with Greece, live on ESPN at 10.25pm AEST Monday.

Greece loom as Team USA’s biggest threat in Group C, with the two claiming first up victories against New Zealand and Jordan respectively.

Hoops fans will be able to catch every game of the FIBA Men’s World Cup 2023 LIVE across ESPN, ESPN2 and the ESPN App*, including every Boomers game live in primetime, and a dedicated FIBA World Cup wrap show, World Cup Live.

Australia finished fourth at the 2019 FIBA World Cup, falling to eventual winners Spain in a dramatic overtime defeat in the Semi Final. The Boomers hope to take a step further this campaign and create history.

In a major win for Australian sporting fans, selected games from the tournament will be made available on Kayo Freebies.
