Nicole Kidman surprises Sydney fans at Practical Magic 2 screening – Sydney audiences were given a major surprise when Academy Award-winning actress Nicole Kidman appeared in person at a special screening of Practical Magic 2.
The Australian appearance gives local fans a rare hometown moment on the film’s publicity trail, with Kidman returning to one of her most beloved screen roles as the sequel prepares for its cinema release.
Kidman stepped on stage to welcome the audience and celebrate the follow-up to the 1998 favourite, which reunites her with Sandra Bullock as the Owens sisters.
The surprise appearance was met with cheers and applause from fans who had gathered for the Sydney screening. The evening ended with Kidman leading the audience in a midnight margarita toast before departing to a standing ovation.
Practical Magic 2 sees Bullock and Kidman return to the world of the Owens family, with the sisters confronting a dark curse that threatens to unravel their family once again.
The film also stars Joey King, Lee Pace, Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridueña, Solly McLeod, Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing. Susanne Bier directs from a screenplay by Akiva Goldsman, Georgia Pritchett and Kelly Marcel, based on Alice Hoffman’s novel The Book of Magic.
Practical Magic 2 is only in cinemas from September 10.
