Dune: Part Three final trailer arrives ahead of 16 December release – The final trailer for Dune: Part Three has arrived, setting up the last chapter of Denis Villeneuve’s film trilogy before it opens in Australian cinemas and IMAX on Wednesday 16 December 2026.

The Australian release date places local audiences among the first to see the conclusion. The story moves nearly two decades beyond Paul Atreides’ rise to power, shifting the focus from his conquest of the Imperium to the consequences of ruling it.

Paul faces the cost of power

Paul is now a ruthless emperor. Old allies are returning, new threats are emerging and rebellion is building against his reign. Visions of an Imperial collapse and the reappearance of a long-lost love draw him into a conspiracy with Chani at its centre.

The film asks what Paul is prepared to sacrifice as his enemies close in. That gives Villeneuve’s trilogy a different dramatic centre from the earlier films: the choices of a ruler who has already achieved the power he once sought.
