Daisy Edgar-Jones and Esmé Creed-Miles bound for Sydney to celebrate Sense and Sensibility – Daisy Edgar-Jones and Esmé Creed-Miles will visit Sydney this month ahead of the Australian cinema release of Sense and Sensibility.
The actors, who play Dashwood sisters Elinor and Marianne in Universal Pictures’ new adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic, will take part in media opportunities before attending the Australian premiere.
The Sydney visit gives Australian audiences an early local spotlight on Georgia Oakley’s take on Austen’s story of love, loss and sisterhood. With Edgar-Jones coming from screen roles in Normal People and Twisters, and Creed-Miles known for Hanna, the release brings a fresh cast to one of literature’s most enduring family dramas.
Jane Austen’s Dashwood sisters return
After the death of their father, Mrs Dashwood and her three daughters must leave their family estate for modest Barton Cottage. The move puts practical Elinor’s feelings for Edward Ferrars under strain, while passionate Marianne is swept up in a romance with John Willoughby.
Caitríona Balfe, Frank Dillane, Herbert Nordrum, George MacKay and Fiona Shaw also star. Diana Reid adapts Austen’s novel, with Oakley directing for Focus Features and Working Title.
Sense and Sensibility opens in Australian cinemas on 15 October.
