Prima Facie trailer – Jodie Comer’s Olivier and Tony Award-winning performance in Suzie Miller’s gripping one-woman play will return to cinemas on September 20.
Tessa is a young, brilliant barrister. She has worked her way up from working class origins to be at the top of her game; defending; cross examining and winning. An unexpected event forces her to confront the lines where the patriarchal power of the law, burden of proof and morals diverge.
Prima Facie takes us to the heart of where emotion and experience collide with the rules of the game. Justin Martin directs this solo tour de force, captured live in 2022 during a sold-out run at the Harold Pinter Theatre in London’s West End.
Jodie Comer is a multi-award-winning actress, on both the stage and screen. She rose to prominence on the silver screen as Villanelle in Killing Eve. Since then, Comer has gone onto star in films such as The Last Duel and Bikeriders.
Suzie Miller is an Australian playwright, screenwriter, and human rights lawyer. Last year, she published Prima Facie as a novel, and is now working on adapting it into a film.
Prima Facie (Encore) will be screening in select Australian cinemas from September 20 for a limited time – tickets are on sale now.
