Beyond Paradise on BBC First announces season 2

Beyond Paradise on BBC First – Cozy crime fans rejoice, Beyond Paradise is returning for another series. The second series of the Death in Paradise spin-off is set to premiere on BBC First from Saturday, March 23 at 10.00am express with encore episodes airing at 8.30pm. The series will also be available to stream through Binge and On Demand.

Set in Shipton Abbott, on the Devonshire coat, the first series saw the characters help solve a number of interesting cases that hit the region. Series one held the highest broadcast consolidated+7 numbers in the history of the BBC First channel as well as holding six of the top 10 scripted broadcasts on subscription TV in 2023.

Shipton Abbott continues to keep DI Humphrey Goodman and his team busy, with a baffling crime each week – from a death on a steam train to a missing teacher, the team have their work cut out. Even more so with Police HQ’s threat of the local station house closure hanging over them – the pressure is on to get results.

Meanwhile, Humphrey and Martha’s journey to find their own version of a family continues as they explore the possibility of fostering.

Martha’s mother Anne throws herself into the world of online dating. And a well-meant gesture from Esther’s daughter Zoe threatens to uncover a long-held secret.

The new series will see the return of Shipton Abbott’s much-loved residents, including Kris Marshall (DI Humphrey Goodman), Sally Bretton (Martha Lloyd), Zahra Ahmadi (DS Esther Williams), Dylan Llewellyn (PC Kelby Hartford), Barbara Flynn (Anne Lloyd) and Felicity Montagu (Margo Martins).

Danny Webb (Alien 3), Nicholas Woodeson (Skyfall), Malcolm Storry (Doc Martin), Carolyn Pickles (Broadchurch), Jeff Rawle (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire), Jayde Adams (Ruby Speaking), Souad Faress (Game of Thrones), Charlie Baker (Back) and more. Also returning are Jade Harison as CS Charlie Woods, Melina Sinadinou as Zoe, Eva Feiler as Lucy, Isaac Vincent-Norgate as Ryan, Amelia Vitale as Hannah, and last but not least, Selwyn the Duck!
