The Houston Astros and Philadelphia Phillies remain locked in a fierce contest for the 2022 Major League Baseball World Series, where every game is live on ESPN.
After inclement weather saw the postponement of Game Three of the World Series, changes have been made to the 2022 Major League Baseball World Series Schedule.
Due to the postponement of Game Three, scheduled games have been shifted back a day.
Philadelphia currently lead the 2022 MLB World Series 2-1, having brought an end to the Astros’ undefeated post-season run. The Phillies have home-field advantage and can claim the World Series with wins in Game Four and Five.
The best-of-seven series continues, with Game Four on Thursday November 3 at 11am AEDT on ESPN.
Game Five will now be live on Friday November 4, with Saturday November 5, becoming a rest day.
Game Six and Game Seven (if needed) will be held on Sunday November 6 and Monday November 7, with Game Seven beginning at 12pm AEDT LIVE on ESPN.
The Phillies hold a 2-1 lead heading into Game Four, having stunned the Astros in the opening game in Houston.
The Astros got swift revenge to level the series in Game Two, before Philadelphia claimed the rescheduled Game Three on Wednesday (AEDT), their first game on home soil.
Philadelphia will look to retain that advantage, and can claim the World Series by winning the next two games, before the series switches back to Houston.
This year is Houston’s second successive World Series appearance, having been defeated last season by the Atlanta Braves.
After winning the World Series in 2017, the Astros latest trips to the championship showdown have been heartbreakers, going down in game seven to the Washington Nationals in 2019, and losing in six to Atlanta Braves in 2021.
Philadelphia have won just two World Series in their history, from eight appearances- lifting the championship in 1980 and 2008.
The Phillies showdown with Houston is their first World Series appearance since 2009.
