ABC celebrates TV Week Logie Award nominations

ABC celebrates TV Week Logie Award nominations – The ABC has received a massive 45 nominations for this year’s Logie Awards, announced in Sydney this morning.

It is one of the largest number of nominations ever given to the public broadcaster and covers all genres of television – from drama, lifestyle, comedy and entertainment to news and current affairs.

The ABC has three nominations for the coveted Gold Logie Award with Australian Story presenter Leigh Sales, Mad as Hell host Shaun Micallef and Mystery Road: Origin actor Mark Coles Smith, all in the running for the title of Australia’s most popular television personality.

Mystery Road: Origin leads with seven nominations including for Most Popular Drama and Most Outstanding Drama. Mark Coles Smith has also been nominated in both the Most Outstanding Actor and Most Popular Actor categories for his role as detective Jay Swan.

ABC’s Chief Content Office, Chris Oliver-Taylor said the large number of nominations for the 2023 Logie Awards reflected the depth and breadth of talent across the ABC.

“I congratulate all our nominees – from our presenters and cast members to all those behind the scenes who have contributed to giving Australians some of the best shows found anywhere in the world. We look forward to a very successful Logies night in Sydney on Sunday 30 July.”
