SPA CELEBRATES AACTA & UPFRONT

SUCCESS FOR 2022

Screen Producers Australia (SPA) applauds the outstanding work of our members who were nominated and won this week at the two major ceremonies of the 2022 AACTA Awards across the television, online, film, documentary, and short film categories. The 2022 AACTA Awards, presented by Foxtel, honour excellence in screen production and acknowledge the driving forces that shape our profession.

SPA also congratulates its members with new productions and returning series for 2023, announced recently during major broadcasters and streamers’ ‘Upfronts‘. SPA members have fifty-three new productions across Drama, Documentary & Factual, Light Entertainment, and Reality that have been commissioned and releasing next year for ABC, BINGE, Channel 7, Channel 9, Channel 10 Foxtel Group, NITV, Paramount, Prime Video, SBS, and Stan.

“While there is always more to be done to improve and grow our sector, it is also important that we celebrate our collective successes.  We congratulate everyone – commissioning platforms, distributors, investors, creative teams, crews and our members alike – on the incredible work that was acknowledged this week and that caps off an extraordinary year of achievement in our industry that discovers and shares the bold, diverse, and unique Australian culture and songlines like no other,” said SPA CEO, Matthew Deaner.

“We cannot wait to see what 2023 will bring.”
