The 2023 Spring Racing Carnival has come alive and the Seven Network is the only place to see the most prestigious races live and free, highlighted by the biggest day in racing when Melbourne and Sydney come together for Australia’s Greatest Race Day on Saturday, 14 October.

In partnership with Racing NSW and the Melbourne Racing Club, Seven will broadcast the nation’s richest race day, featuring both The Everest and the Caulfield Guineas together again, live and free on the one channel.

With a combined $38 million of prize money on offer, the unmissable action is set to thrill as the world’s richest race on turf, The Everest, and the blue riband race for three-year-olds, the Caulfield Guineas, are run at Royal Randwick and Caulfield Racecourse respectively from midday on 14 October, live and free on Channel 7 and 7plus.

Australia’s Greatest Race Day headlines a massive spring on Seven, with the most celebrated meets on the Australian thoroughbred racing calendar and a procession of Group 1 races.

Australia’s pre-eminent sports broadcaster Bruce McAvaney will again lead racing’s #1 team, joined by 7Racing’s Hamish McLachlan, Emma Freedman, Jason Richardson, Katelyn McDonald, Emily Bosson, Lizzie Jelfs and Kate Waterhouse.

Managing Director of Seven Melbourne and Head of Network Sport, Lewis Martin said:

“Seven, Racing New South Wales and the Melbourne Racing Club remain committed to growing the sport of racing and ensuring its long-term health in this country, and working together to bring Australians mass-cultural events like Australia’s Greatest Race Day demonstrates the strength and value of our partnership.

“The future of racing will be underpinned by an investment in unity and innovation, and we’re excited to deliver all the biggest race days from both Melbourne and Sydney live and free on Seven and 7plus.

“If you think of racing, you immediately think of Seven. The best-in-class coverage they provide satisfies the needs of all viewers in a professional and entertaining style. However, they also have the legend Bruce McAvaney, and you would watch the coverage just to enjoy his brilliance.”

Melbourne Racing Club CEO, Josh Blanksby, said:
