Buenos Aires has a housing crisis. While the Argentine economy has grown and the value of urban land has increased with it; the rising prices have generated a spatial inequality for the population.

Over two million people live in shanty towns in and around the city. Known as the ‘villas miserias’ (villages of misery), they’re widely associated with poverty and crime.

But inside is a very different story. From the rural squatting settlement December 23 on the outskirts of the city; to the urban jungle of Villa 21-24; to the high-rise tenements of Fort Apache, meet three of the marginalised communities in Argentina’s capital striving to find their voice and build better lives for their families.

Fighting for their right to the city and to tear down the barriers of discrimination they endure daily: see these communities band together in the quest to create a better tomorrow.

CHILLIDA: DEPTH OF AIR

At the age of 19, Eduardo Chillida was a gifted athlete set to become a football legend. However, a severe injury during a match saw him move away from professional sport.

At the time, nobody could ever imagine that the young Spanish goalkeeper was at the verge of re-writing his destiny, to become one of the most prominent sculptors of the 20th century.

Discover the life and work of Chillida, through the stories as told by his children. Chillida’s personality permeates through his work, his eight children, and some of his closest collaborators.
