Legal drama anthology series
January 2025 on SBS on Demand
Showtrial (Seasons 1 -2)

**Australian Premiere of Season 2** **Box Set**

Wednesday, 1 January 2025 on SBS On Demand (all ten episodes available)

Across each series of the anthology drama Showtrial – from the producers of Vigil and Line of Duty – we follow high profile murder cases through the eyes of the police, thepublic, and the courts.

Season 2 returns with a brand-new cast and case that grips the media and divides the nation: Notorious climate change activist activist Marcus Calderwood is a fierce advocate of direct, disruptive action and unapologetic about its consequences. As a result, he has as many hostile opponents as he does supporters. So when Marcus is left for dead in a roadside hit-and-run, foul play cannot be discounted. The fact that a dying Marcus named a police officer as his assailant – one with a prior grudge against him – reinforces this suspicion. If Marcus’s death really was a cold-blooded murder, what motives lay behind it? From the victim’s last breath to the jury’s final verdict, Showtrial’s layered characters and intriguing plot twists combine for a compelling drama built on a key question: When a trial is dominated by divisive issues and public outrage, can justice ever be served? Starring Adeel Akhtar (Sherwood, Fool Me Once), Joe Dempsie (Game of Thrones) and Michael Socha (Chernobyl, This Is England)

Season 1: When Talitha Campbell, the arrogant daughter of a wealthy entrepreneur, is arrested following the disappearance of a fellow student, the case grips the nation and whips up a media storm. On Talitha’s side is brilliant solicitor Cleo Roberts. Can Cleo control the narrative of a case that is fast becoming tangled up in the nation’s debates over privilege, wealth and politics?

Showtrial (Seasons 1 -2) will be available on SBS On Demand.

**Australian Premiere** **Box Set**

Thursday, 9 January 2025 on SBS On Demand (all six episodes available)

At age 66, Hulda Hermannsdóttir is a woman whose eyes have seen many things, most of them painful. She has worked in the police force for decades. Whip-smart, she knows she’s the best cop, but at work she is surrounded by men. Men whose skills simply don’t match up to her own, even if their attitudes suggest otherwise. As she unwillingly approaches retirement, a year after the unexpected death of her daughter Dimma, Hulda is faced with a case of a missing woman that consumes her entirely.

Based on the Ragnar Jónasson novel of the same name. Directed by Lasse Hallström and starring Lena Olin and Douglas Henshall.

The Darkness will be available on SBS On Demand and air Thursday, 9 January at 9.30pm on SBS.

Guilt (Season 3)

**Australian Premiere** **Box Set**

Thursday, 16 January 2025 on SBS On Demand (all four episodes available)

The award-winning TV series is hailed by the Guardian UK as “Scotland’s answer to Fargo”. The show follows polar opposite brothers: unscrupulous lawyer Max McCall(Mark Bonnar, World On Fire, Unforgotten, Shetland), and his softer-hearted brother Jake (Jamie Sives, Annika, Chernobyl), as they get (mostly) into and out of trouble.

This third and final season sees brothers Jake and Max find themselves back in Scotland, where the welcome isn’t as warm as they hoped for. As they face life-defining crises, the series comes to a wild and thrilling conclusion.

Guilt (Seasons 1 – 3) will be available on SBS On Demand.
