Memories real and imagined become a powerful and heartrending portrait of their relationship, as Sophie tries to reconcile the father she knew with the man she didn’t. Starring Best Actor Academy Award Nominee Paul Mescal.

The Summer Of Movies collection will be available on SBS On Demand and every Saturday and Sunday on World Movies at 8.30pm.

To solve the case, Wisting teams up with the highly skilled Interpol agent Harriet Dunn. But not everyone is pleased that new light is being shed on what has transpired and Wisting suspects he’s being undermined by powerful forces – from within the higher ranks of the police.

It’s Vienna, 1909 and the double murder of an arms dealer in police custody and a senior public official has shaken Vienna to its core. Doctor Max Liebermann has only just returned from a lecture tour when Inspector Rheinhardt asks for help in what could be the most dangerous case of their career. Oskar and Max discover a conspiracy that leads to the heart of government. Can the Freudian psychoanalyst and the detective do enough to stop a seditious mole known as ‘Mephisto’ from bringing the Austro-Hungarian Empire to destruction? And will their lives ever be the same again?

Compelled to do what he thinks is right, Pine makes contact with his friend at the British Embassy. But his actions unwittingly draw him into the terrifying world of ruthless arms dealer, Richard Roper. When Sophie’s information makes its way to a government anti-corruption agent intent on bringing down Roper’s empire, a leak in her network triggers a chain of events that end in tragedy.

All episodes of The Night Manager will be available on SBS On Demand, and episodes will air weekly on SBS from Wednesday, 18 December at 9.30pm.

Daddy Issues

Australian Premiere Box Set

Thursday, 19 December 2024 on SBS On Demand (all six episodes available)

Aimee Lou Wood (Sex Education) and David Morrissey (The Walking Dead) star in BBC comedy Daddy Issues, a coming-of-age story for all ages. The show follows Gemma (Wood), who lives for the weekend when she can get plastered and party hard in Stockport, Manchester. But after joining the mile-high club with a random hook-up on her way back from a holiday to Portugal, she falls pregnant, and it couldn’t come at a worse time. She has no other option but to seek support from her crisis-stricken father, Malcolm (Morrissey) and move in together.

At its heart, Daddy Issues is a classic odd couple comedy about two funny, deeply flawed characters, who just happen to be father and daughter.

Daddy Issues will be available on SBS On Demand, and episodes will air weekly on SBS from Thursday, 19 December at 9.30pm

Oriana Fallaci is a young reporter assigned to write about films, but her ambition is to cover politics. Amongst a team of men, she feels pigeon-holed into her role. When the opportunity to write a series of articles on the Hollywood star system comes up, she is hungry to prove herself and pitches the impossible: an exclusive interview with Marilyn Monroe. With only a few days to track the actress down, and her job on the line, Oriana will either lose it all or change Italian journalism forever.

Miss Fallaci will be available in Italian with English subtitles on SBS On Demand.

Murder-mystery survival series

December 2024 on SBS on Demand
The Head (Season 3)

Australian Premiere Weekly episodes

Thursday, 26 December 2024 on SBS On Demand (six episodes)

In Bir Tawil, an African territory in the middle of the desert that belongs to no state, and therefore has no law, a group of scientists use a former military base to continue the research Dr. Arthur Wilde began to reverse climate change.

To do this they bring in five subjects who must ingest water that has been in contact with the algae they are studying, to test whether it is safe to spread it throughout ecosystems. All goes according to plan until an unexpected visitor turns up at the remote base, claiming to be a tourist who has survived a plane crash. When one of the scientists turns up the next morning decapitated, they realise there are far more deadly dangers than their experiments.

The Head (Season 3) will premiere with two episodes, then air episodes weekly on SBS On Demand.
