Stranger Things on Netflix Upside Down Under Arrives in Sydney – Netflix has kicked off a week of strange happenings with a haunting spectacle over Sydney Harbour, as the world counts down to the final season of Stranger Things.
This evening, onlookers around Sydney Harbour witnessed a haunting red glow engulf the night sky, as the Upside Down broke through the city skyline. The eerie projection will illuminate the harbour again tomorrow, 26 November, for fans who missed tonight’s spectacle.
The best view: Fans can head to the Northern Wharf at the Overseas Passenger Terminal (OPT) for front-row chills to the Upside Down.
Extra strange: On 26 November, the Harbour Bar at Squire’s Landing will transform into a Hawkins hotspot with themed photo moments and a special viewing deck for those stopping who are brave enough to get closer to the rift.
What other supernatural sights and Hawkins-inspired happenings can fans enjoy this week?
28-29 November: Hawkins Fried Chicken
Prepare to descend into the Upside Down with the opening of the world’s first underground KFC. On 28 and 29 November, and ‘Hawkins Fried Chicken’ will open in Sydney’s abandoned Wynyard Station Tunnels. Visitors can pre-register for their attendance HERE. Walk-ins will also be accepted throughout the days between 12-2:30pm and 4:30-10pm.
From 2 December, KFC is also bringing the Upside Down Double to restaurants nationwide. It features two of KFC’s iconic Original Crispy fillets, sandwiching a soft bun in the middle, layered with crispy bacon, cheese, and a generous serving of KFC’s brand-new, Stranger Sauce.
Entry to Hawkins Fried Chicken is free and will be serving up free Upside Down Doubles, KFC chips and KFC menu items from the 80s.
From 28 November: Stranger Things: The Experience returns to Luna Park Sydney
By popular demand, Stranger Things: The Experience is returning to Luna Park Sydney for one last run, just in time for the final season.
Returning with all the beloved elements that captivated Sydneysiders in its successful debut earlier this year, the iconic Crystal Palace at Luna Park will once again become an immersive gateway into the supernatural world of Stranger Things, infused with eerie mystery and vibrant 1980s nostalgia. Fans can get involved in the action by purchasing tickets HERE.
