NFL on Netflix – Mariah Carey & Aussie Sporting Legends announcement – What do six Aussie sporting icons, Mariah Carey and Beyonce have in common? They’re all geared up for the NFL on Netflix this Boxing day.
On 26 December AEDT, Netflix will be the global home of the NFL’s two Christmas Day marquee games. The Super Bowl LVII-winning Chiefs will face the Steelers (5:00 AM AEDT) and the Ravens will take on the Texans (8:30 AM AEDT).
To prepare for the big Boxing day games, Netflix sent some Aussie sporting legends to NFL training. Rugby League greats, Brian To’o & Willie Mason; Olympic Gold Medalist Charlotte Caslick; AFL icons Mason Cox & Brendan Fevola; Matilda’s star Chloe Logarzo; and radio hosts (and sports fanatics) Jimmy Smith and Nathan Roye gathered for a Pro-Bowl style skills showdown… with a boxing day twist of course.
Modelled after real NFL training camp exercises: Thong Dash, Sausage Drop, Pool Punt, Ham Toss put these athletes to the ultimate test.
Last month it was announced that Beyoncé will perform during the second of Netflix’s two games, as the Houston Texans host the Baltimore Ravens at 8:30 AM AEDT. This performance in her hometown of Houston, Texas, produced by her company, Parkwood Entertainment and Jesse Collins Entertainment, will be the first live performance of songs from her genre-bending and record-breaking COWBOY CARTER album.
With Aussie sporting royalty, Netflix, Mariah Carey and Beyoncé, the NFL kicks off what is expected to be a new holiday tradition as the streaming giant has announced NFL games for 2025 and 2026.

Netflix has been playing ball with the NFL for a couple of years now, beginning with the hit series Quarterback in 2023. In July, Netflix released Receiver, which follows five of the NFL’s best pass catchers through the 2023 season: Davante Adams (Raiders), Justin Jefferson (Vikings), George Kittle and Deebo Samuel (of the 49ers), and Amon-Ra St. Brown (Lions).
