Wild Cherry on HBO Max for 16 November – HBO Max today announced the exclusive premiere of Wild Cherry, a gripping new drama from BAFTA-award winning creator Nicôle Lecky (Mood).
The six-part series, which premieres on Sunday 16 November on HBO Max in Australia, is written by Lecky, who also stars and executive produces, and dives deep into the glossy facade of privilege, motherhood, and the dark undercurrents of social media. It is made by Firebird Pictures (The Jetty), part of BBC Studios.
Set in the pristine gated community of Richford Lake, Wild Cherry follows two best friends — Lorna (Carmen Ejogo), a self-made businesswoman, and Juliet (Eve Best), born into wealth and entitlement. Their daughters, Grace and Allegra (Imogen Faires and Amelia May) are inseparable and live a life most teens only dream of.
But when a scandal erupts at their elite private school, the community is shaken — and so is the bond between the two mothers.
The six-part series is a provocative and deliciously honest look at mother/daughter relationships amidst the whirlwind of social media, hidden apps and relentless peer pressure that asks: how far will we go to protect our children? And just how much do teenage girls know about the women raising them?
If the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, then who is leading these girls astray? “Like mother like daughter” rings loudly in a complex world, and danger is never far from the surface – even in a perfect town.

Wild Cherry’s ensemble cast is comprised of Sophie Winkleman (Peep Show, Sanditon), Daniel Lapaine (Catastrophe), Hayat Kamille (Vikings: Valhalla), Isabelle Allen (Les Misérables), James Murray (The Crown), Jason York (Mood), Katarina Čas (The Wolf of Wall Street), Catriona Chandler (Rivals, Enola Holmes), Nathaniel Martello-White (The Winter King), Sonita Henry (Black Cake), Tara Webb (Phoenix Rise), Will Bagnall (A Thousand Blows) and Hugh Quarshie (Holby City).
Wild Cherry (6×60) is produced by Firebird Pictures, part of BBC Studios, and was commissioned by the BBC in the UK.
It is written and created by Nicôle Lecky with Toby MacDonald (Extraordinary, Fifteen-Love) directing. The executive producers are Elizabeth Kilgarriff, Craig Holleworth for Firebird Pictures, Lisa Walters, Nicôle Lecky, Toby Macdonald and Lucy Richer for the BBC. The producer is Ado Yoshizaki Cassuto. BBC Studios is handling global sales.
Wild Cherry premieres Sunday 16 November, only on HBO Max. All episodes available.
