With exclusive access to those closest to the crime – from the concierge who lived through the ordeal to one of the gang members who carried it out – the documentary brings fresh insight into what was described as “the biggest robbery in France for 50 years.”
Featuring never-before-heard testimonies, forensic detail of the police investigation, and the extraordinary twists that followed, the series unpicks how a group of ageing career criminals – later dubbed the “Grandpa Gang” – pulled off a heist that stunned the world.

Amidst the glitz and glamour of Paris Fashion Week 2016, Kim Kardashian – the world’s most famous reality star – is robbed of over $6 million worth of diamonds. For Kim and the hotel’s concierge, Mr. Ouatiki, it’s a horrific life-changing ordeal. For France, it’s the biggest jewel theft in half a century – and an outright embarrassment. Episode 2: “The Inside Man”
Paris reels after the heist. Kim disappears from social media, fuelling wild conspiracy theories. The French police face mounting pressure to deliver results quickly to restore the country’s image. As CCTV footage, DNA, and phone taps point to a surprising gang of suspects, a sprawling investigation closes in. Just as they think they’ve escaped justice, 17 people are arrested in dawn raids, and suspicions about who the “inside man” might be take centre stage.
