HBO Max releases a first look at HBO and Max original series premiering in Australia next year – HBO Max today unveiled an exciting first look at its 2026 programming slate for Australian audiences, promising a year packed with culture-defining series, with a mix of fan-favourite returns and highly anticipated new originals.
From gripping dramas and award-winning series to epic fantasy adventures, the lineup showcases HBO Max’s commitment to delivering the very best of premium entertainment.
Kicking off in January are standout premieres, including the second season of the Emmy® Award-winning The Pitt, the return of the critically acclaimed Industry, and the debut of Game of Thrones franchise series A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, 2026 will also see the return of iconic titles like Euphoria, House of the Dragon, Dune: Prophecy and The Comeback, alongside fresh new series such as Rooster, DTF St. Louis and Lanterns, positioning HBO Max as the leading home for world-class storytelling in Australia.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms
A century before the events of Game of Thrones, two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros… a young, naïve but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg. Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne, and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms premieres Monday January 19, and has already been renewed for season two, which will air in 2027.

A darkly comedic limited series starring David Harbour and Jason Bateman, DTF St. Louis explores a love triangle between three adults experiencing middle-age malaise, that leads to one of them ending up dead.

Based on iconic DC title Green Lantern, the series follows new recruit John Stewart and Lantern legend Hal Jordan, two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, Earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland. Rooster
The 10-episode season, from Warner Bros. Television, hails from co-showrunners and executive producers Bill Lawrence and Matt Tarses and stars Steve Carell, who also serves as executive producer. The comedy series is set on a college campus centring on an author’s (Carell) complicated relationship with his daughter (Charly Clive). Rooster will debut in March.

War follows two of London’s most prestigious rival firms – Cathcarts and Taylor & Byrne – as they go head-to-head in the divorce case of the century. Each side is certain they’ll win. Stuart Fails to Save the Universe
The latest franchise from The Big Bang Theory sees comic book store owner Stuart Bloom tasked with restoring reality after he breaks a device built by Sheldon and Leonard, accidentally bringing about a multiverse Armageddon. Stuart is aided in this quest by his girlfriend Denise, geologist friend Bert, and quantum physicist/all-around pain in the ass Barry Kripke.
Along the way, they meet alternate-universe versions of characters we’ve come to know and love from The Big Bang Theory. As the title implies, things don’t go well.

The third season of this HBO Original drama series will debut in Australian winter 2026. Ahead of its return, HBO has renewed the series for a fourth season, debuting in 2028.

The fourth season of the critically acclaimed HBO Original drama series debuts Monday, 12 January. New episodes of the eight-episode season will debut weekly.

The Pitt (season two)
The Pitt is a realistic examination of the challenges facing healthcare workers in today’s America as seen through the lens of the frontline heroes working in a modern-day hospital in Pittsburgh. The second season returns Friday, 9 January.
