Hayu hosts exclusive reality event with special guest appearances – Hayu, the all-reality streaming service, last night welcomed guests to an exclusive VIP, ‘We Get Reality’ event at Primeville Sweet Spot at SXSW Sydney to celebrate all things reality TV.
Held at Fratelli Fresh ICC Sydney, event attendees were treated to a glamorous evening complete with special guest appearances from Heather Gay and Whitney Rose of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City and Captain Jason Chambers of Below Deck Down Under.
Hosted by celebrity reporter and friend of Hayu, Justin Hill, Sydney personalities, media, and partners were delighted as Whitney Rose and Heather Gay took part in an exclusive on-stage Q&A. The iconic fan-favourite housewives gave guests a sneak peak into the new season of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 5, streaming now only on Hayu.
During the Q&A, the Housewives revealed the Aussie bucket list items they have ticked off during their press trip so far, including seeing koalas and eating a meat pie and sausage roll, and also shared details on the cast dynamic between the Salt Lake City housewives.
Hayu also hosted the ultimate reality TV fandom panel, bringing Below Deck Down Under’s Captain Jason Chambers, TV personality and US correspondent Dean McCarthy and SketchShe content creator, Madison Lloyd, to the stage.
The panel discussed Aussie reality TV fandom and fan-favourite moments from Hayu’s iconic shows, before playing a fun reality TV quiz with host Justin Hill.
On arrival, guests were welcomed with beats from DJ Carla from Bankstown and a welcome ‘Hayu Spritz’ cocktail and canapes, courtesy of Fratelli Fresh. Hayu super fans could also experience the Hayu ‘glam zone’ at Primeville Sweet Spot and immerse themselves into the world of The Real Housewives with iconic photo opportunities inspired by the immensely popular franchise.
The night concluded with a special performance from Australian actor and singer, Hugh Sheridan, who sang a rendition of the classic song, ‘New York, New York’, with a playful nod to the Salt Lake City ladies. Guests were delighted when Whitney and Heather joined Sheridan on the stage to dance and sing along. Guests were also treated to a performance from Sydney drag artist, Dominique Topp, who performed The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne’s iconic song, ‘XXPEN$IVE’.
Following the conclusion of the event, guests were invited to experience the exclusive Primeville After Dark celebration, where attendees created their own entertainment pick’n’mix selection and enjoyed a performance from Young Franco.
