Foxtel Group Secures 33 Nominations for 2025 AACTA AWARDS – Foxtel Group has secured a total of 33 nominations for the 2025 AACTA Awards across its scripted and unscripted slate, including a whopping 15 nominations for BINGE Original Feature Film – HOW TO MAKE GRAVY.  

Based on Paul Kelly’s iconic song, HOW TO MAKE GRAVY has been recognised for its technical and acting excellence across 15 categories including the coveted awards for Best Film, Best Lead Actor in Film – Daniel Henshall, Best Supporting Actress in Film – Kate Mulvany, and two nominations for Best Supporting Actor in Film – Damon Herriman and Hugo Weaving. HOW TO MAKE GRAVY was developed by Aria award-winning musician Meg Washington and Nick Waterman in his directorial debut. The film has garnered Waterman a nomination for Best Direction in Film and the music has been recognised for Best Soundtrack, Best Original Score, Best Original Song for “Dream On” and “Fine” and Best Sound in Film. Other technical nominations include Best Casting in Film, Best Costume Design, Best Production Design in Film and Best Screenplay in Film. 

The film premiered on BINGE on Dec 1 and is smashing viewing records as the biggest new film premiere on BINGE this year.  

BINGE hit comedy series COLIN FROM ACCOUNTS secured an outstanding nine nominations making it the most nominated comedy series at the AACTA Awards for the second year in a row. Nominations include Best Narrative Comedy Series, Best Acting in Comedy to both Patrick Brammall and Harriet Dyer along with first time nominee Genevieve Hegney, two nominations for Best Direction in Drama or Comedy and a nomination across Best Screenplay in Television, Best Editing and Best Casting in Television. COLIN FROM ACCOUNTS is Foxtel Group’s most watched original scripted series of all time. 

Gripping crime drama, THE TWELVE season 2, has been nominated for Best Drama Series, Best Casting in Television and international star Sam Neill is nominated for his role as Brett Colby SC in the Best Lead Actor category.

The first season of THE TWELVE received 10 nominations, and won three AACTA Awards in 2022, including Best Miniseries.   

BINGE Original, STRIFE, which broke records to become BINGE’s biggest original series premiere of all time, has landed a nomination for Best Narrative Comedy Series and acclaimed Australian actress, Asher Keddie has been nominated for Best Acting in a Comedy. Leah Purcell has been recognised for her role as Andrea (Andie) Whitford, in BINGE’s eight-part mystery thriller HIGH COUNTRYfor Best Lead Actress in a Drama. 

GOGGLEBOX AUSTRALIA has been nominated for a seventh year in a row for Best Factual Entertainment Program along with Best Reality Program for beloved baking series THE GREAT AUSTRALIAN BAKE OFF. SELLING HOUSES AUSTRALIAhosted by real estate guru Andrew Winter, interior design expert Wendy Moore and landscape designer Dennis Scott is nominated for Best Lifestyle Program.

The 2025 AACTA Awards will see for a second year, the inaugural Brian Walsh Award for Emerging Talent to be given out on the night. The Award, supported by Nicole Kidman, honours his legacy and his contribution to the industry he was so passionate about. 

A special extended AACTA Awards broadcast, including all awards from the ceremony, will be available from 7:30pm on Saturday 8 February on BINGE and Foxtel (watch on Famous and available On-Demand).
