Chris Hemsworth: A Road Trip to Remember on Disney+ has star attend Australian screening – On Wednesday, Nov. 19, National Geographic and Disney+ Australia hosted an intimate screening of CHRIS HEMSWORTH: A ROAD TRIP TO REMEMBER, the new one-hour documentary where Chris and his father, Craig, embark on a road trip into their past as they explore the scientific impacts behind social connection and reminiscence therapy as methods to stimulate mental activity, evoke memories and improve well-being.
Guests were treated to a deeply personal and emotional screening, one that highlights hopeful, science-backed tools in the fight against memory loss and cognitive decline.
The screening was followed by a thoughtful Q&A with Chris Hemsworth and Dr. Suraj Samtani, moderated by Stephanie Bendixsen.
The event was attended by Chris Hemsworth, who was joined by his wife, Elsa Pataky, and their children: India, Tristan and Sasha Hemsworth. Also in attendance were Chris’ parents, Craig and Leonie Hemsworth; brother Luke with wife Samantha Hemsworth and their children, Holly, Ella and Harper; as well as brother Liam Hemsworth and Gabriella Brooks.
TV host, presenter and dementia ambassador Stephanie Bendixsen moderated the event, which was also attended by series contributor Dr. Suraj Samtani, clinical psychologist and postdoctoral fellow at UNSW’s Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing (CHeBA), as well as executive producer with Wild State Ben Grayson, and Bengt Anderson, SVP of Unscripted Production for National Geographic.
Additional guests in attendance included Dementia Australia CEO and professor Tanya Buchanan, Olympic swimmer Brooke Hanson, Australia’s gold medal Olympic hurdles champion Sally Pearson, 1978 World Surfing champion and CHeBA’s Wipeout Dementia ambassador Wayne “Rabbit” Bartholomew, and professional big wave surfer Mark Mathews.
Today, more than 57 million people around the world are living with dementia, with Alzheimer’s disease the most common cause — a powerful reminder that nearly all of us are touched by it in some way.
After his dad’s recent Alzheimer’s diagnosis, Chris turns the camera on his own family in his most personal documentary yet. Determined to help, they embark on a motorcycle journey, exploring the powerful science of social connection and how it can support memory function. This emotional journey across Australia becomes a chance for Chris and Craig to deepen their bond, relive memories, and discover how love, community and nostalgia can be potent medicine.
WHEN: Wednesday, November 19, 2025.
