The Last Anniversary on Binge official trailer – BINGE today released the official trailer and first look images for new Australian drama The Last Anniversary based on Liane Moriarty’s best-selling novel after it was showcased today at the star-studded 2025 AACTA Awards Ceremony.

The trailer gives audiences a sneak peek at the highly anticipated series premiering on Thursday 27 March 2025 with weekly episode drops.

The Last Anniversary peels back the layers of a unique family tree exposing nothing is what it seems on the surface. Set on Scribbly Gum Island, a place of many secrets, the series is a wickedly funny, heartfelt dramedy wrapped in a gripping mystery about family, motherhood and the women who define the generations that come after them.

The Last Anniversary stars acclaimed Australian actress Teresa Palmer (The Clearing, The Fall Guy) along with a stellar ensemble cast including Miranda Richardson (Good Omens, Spider), Danielle Macdonald (The Tourist, Patti Cake$), Claude Scott-Mitchell (The Dry, Hotel Portofino), Helen Thomson (Elvis, Colin From Accounts), Uli Latukefu (Young Rock, The Last King of the Cross), Susan Prior (Animal Kingdom, Puberty Blues), Jeremy Lindsay Taylor (Force of Nature: The Dry 2, Puberty Blues) and Charlie Garber (Barons, The Outlaw Michael Howe).

Award winning producers of Big Little Lies and Nine Perfect Strangers Bruna Papandrea’s Made Up Stories and Nicole Kidman’s Blossom Films have once again partnered with celebrated Australian author Liane Moriarty to bring her best-selling novel The Last Anniversary to the screen, marking the first time one of Moriarty’s novels has been set and filmed in Australia.

US based acclaimed Australian director and executive producer John Polson returned to Australia to work with his long-time friends and direct all six episodes. Samantha Strauss serves as head writer and Sarah L. Walker serves as script producer with the series being shot entirely on location across Sydney and the Hawkesbury River where the novel was set.

Commissioner and Executive Director of Content, Foxtel Group Alison Hurbert-Burns, said:

“The Last Anniversary reflects Foxtel Group’s commitment to supporting Australian storytelling. This wonderfully crafted series takes us to the water, to the bush and brings new corners of Australia to the screen. We’re looking forward to all our audiences escaping with us to Scribbly Gum Island and getting lost in the family mystery that ensues. We’re very thankful to the producers and talented cast and crew for their work and our partners at Screen NSW and Screen Australia for backing this special new series.”

Blossom Films and Made Up Stories said:

“The Last Anniversary is a very special show to us – a beautifully Australian story about family wrapped up in a propulsive mystery. This is the next step in our partnership with Liane Moriarty and we’re so proud to bring the breathtaking Hawkesbury River to audiences, where Liane dreamt up this incredible story. We’re in awe of what our cast and crew have created, led by director John Polson, alongside writer Sam Strauss and stars Teresa Palmer, Miranda Richardson and Danielle Macdonald.”

The Last Anniversary is commissioned by the Foxtel Group and is a co-production between Made Up Stories, Blossom Films and FIFTH SEASON. Executive producers are Nicole Kidman, Per Saari, Bruna Papandrea, Steve Hutensky, Jodi Matterson, Samantha Strauss, Liane Moriarty, John Polson, Alison Hurbert-Burns and Lana Greenhalgh. The series is supported by the NSW Government through Screen NSW’s Made in NSW Fund.  FIFTH SEASON handles worldwide rights to the series.

The Last Anniversary on Binge – premieres Thursday 27 March on BINGE, available on Hubbl, and on Showcase at 8.30pm and is available On Demand.
