Binge celebrates over 140 Emmy nominations

Binge celebrates over 140 Emmy nominations – Nominations for the 75th Emmy Awards were announced overnight honouring an incredible year of programming, performances and storytelling with over 140 Emmy Award nominated shows and talent streaming on BINGE, home of the world’s best entertainment.

The nomination ceremony hosted by Emmy Award-nominated actress Yvette Nicole Brown and Television Academy Chairman Frank Scherma, recognised the biggest shows of the year and the incredible talent that brought them to life with Australians Sarah Snook (Succession), Murray Bartlett (The Last of Us) and Anna Torv (The Last of Us) all receiving individual nominations.

Succession has been recognised as the most nominated series at this year’s Awards,taking a total of27Emmy nominations. The critically acclaimed drama series set in New York and centred around the Roy family, included nods for Outstanding Drama Series and Lead Actor for Brian Cox, Kieran Culkin and Jeremy Strong, marking the first time three actors from the same series have been nominated in the category in the same year. Lead Actress in a Drama Series for Australia’s Sarah Snook and Supporting Actor In A Drama Series for Matthew Macfadyen, Nicholas Braun, Alan Ruck and Alexander Skarsgård.

The smash-hit post-apocalyptic series The Last of Us received 24 nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series, with lead actors Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey receiving nominations for Lead Actor and Actress In A Drama.

Australia’s own Murray Bartlett and Anna Torv received nominations for Outstanding Guest Actor and Actress In A Drama Series respectively for their roles with both categories boasting another five Guest Actor and Actress nominations for the series.

Satire comedyThe White Lotus received 23 nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Drama Series for F. Murray Abraham, Michael Imperioli, Theo James and Will Sharpe. Jennifer Coolidge received her second Emmy nod for Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Drama Series, a category which boasted another four Supporting Actress nominations for the series.

Other key nominations streaming on BINGE include:

  • The fourth and final season of the dark comedy series Barry received 11 nominations including Most Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Writing For A Comedy Series. Lead actor Bill Hader received a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series and Anthony Carrigan and Henry Winkler both earned a nom for Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series.
  • Award-winning drama seriesHouse of the Dragon earned 8 nominations including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Cinematography For A Series and Outstanding Special Visual Effects In A Season Or A Movie.
  • Saturday Night Livetook home 10 nominations including Outstanding Directing For A Variety Series and Pedro Pascal earned an Emmy nod for Outstanding Guest Actor In A Comedy Series.
  • The award-winning reality competition seriesTop Chef received 5 noms, including Outstanding Reality Competition Program and Host Padma Lakshmi for Outstanding Host For A Reality Or Competition Program.
  • What We Do in the Shadows, based on the feature film by Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi, received four nominations including Outstanding Picture Editing For A Single-Camera Comedy Series and Outstanding Picture Editing For A Single-Camera Comedy Series. The fifth season of What We Do in the Shadows premieres tomorrow (14 July) on BINGE.
  • The reality TV gem Vanderpump Rulesscored 2 nominations including Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program.
  • Last Week Tonight with John Oliver and A Black Lady Sketch Showearned nods for Outstanding Scripted Variety Series.
