The Wives

Premieres Exclusively on Acorn TV and AMC+ Monday 21 April

Last year, four sisters-in-law and their families escaped to their Maltese holiday apartments, as they’ve done every summer for 15 years. Sylvie (Tamzin Outhwaite, Eastenders) was happily married, Natasha (Angela Griffin, Waterloo Road) was swimming in wealth, and Beth (Jo Joyner, Shakespeare & Hathaway) and Annabelle (Christine Bottomley, Sherwood) were thick as thieves.

But this year, as they come together again, everything is different. Sylvie’s now single and loving life, Natasha’s hiding a desperate financial situation, Beth is barely keeping her life together and Annabelle is, well… dead.

When Annabelle’s widower Charlie (Jamie Bamber, Innocent, Marcella) arrives with a new woman in tow, Beth tries to be happy for them, but something doesn’t sit right, and her suspicion that there’s more to Annabelle’s death is heightened.

With lies coming to light and evidence building, the women work together and against each other to unravel the mystery and bring the culprit to justice. But with corrupt officials, drug cartels and career criminals closer to home than ever expected, have they bitten off more than they can chew?”

This season, the stakes are higher for Toya Johnson-Rushing and daughter, Reginae Carter, as the dynamic duo continue to juggle life, love, family, and their ever-growing careers in the spotlight… from different coasts.

Toya’s relationship with her family continues to be a work in progress as she anxiously awaits her brother Walter’s return from prison, in the hope he can help her mend the family divide. Reginae, now in LA, hustles to land a major acting role, all while keeping a mysterious new relationship under wraps.

And that may be easier said than done when Toya makes a visit to discuss Reginae’s spending habits. Beedy’s shocking revelation and Ms. Anita’s erratic behavior begin to push Toya’s patience to the limit and Reginae finds herself in the middle of the family drama and debates moving back to Atlanta.

From family milestones to personal challenges and triumphs, this season promises to be the realest, rawest, most unfiltered season yet!

Groundbreaking docuseries introduces couples as they prepare for the big release day – and an even bigger wedding day. As most of these couples have never had unsupervised contact with one another, we will watch as they experience several “firsts” including dates, meeting the family and other nerve-wracking, intimate moments.

The newly free ex-cons are lucky enough to walk into the open arms of their loved one but will also deal with the difficulties of reentry; including temptations in the outside world, rules and regulations due to parole, difficulties of job hunting with a rap sheet, and of course judgement from family and friends.

Each is a tale of love and redemption, full of surprises and shocking moments, begging the question “Is love enough to create a bright future when one partner has a checkered past?”

New episodes of Love After Lockup premiere every Thursday.

New Film Premieres on Shudder and AMC+ Friday 25 April

Irish folk horror from Aislinn Clarke (The Devil’s Doorway) follows home care worker Shoo, who is sent to a remote village to care for an agoraphobic woman who fears the neighbors as much as she fears the Na Sídhe — sinister entities who she believes abducted her decades before.
