ESPN’s exclusive ‘first ball to last ball’ coverage of the 2025 US Open main draw begins live on Monday, August 25 and the only way to see it all is on ESPN on Disney+ for New Zealand subscribers.
 
The final Grand Slam of 2025 hits Flushing Meadows, New York as the superstars of the tennis world renew rivalries for the US Open crown.
 
All eyes will be on the Men’s singles championship were Jannik Sinner looks to defend his title. 
 
Sinner has enjoyed a phenomenal 2025 so far, remaining the defending Australian Open, Wimbledon and US Open champion.
Fierce rival Carlos Alcaraz is hot on the heels of Sinner and is closing the gap to the world number one.
The pair have enjoyed amazing showdowns already in 2025 and the tennis world hopes that the latest chapter in their fierce rivalry will be written on centre court at the 2025 US Open.
 
Novak Djokovic, Daniil Medvedev will hope their experience and hard-court form transcends to the Grand Slam, whilst local hopes Ben Shelton and Taylor Fritz could ride home support deep in the tournament.
 
In the women’s draw, Aryna Sabalenka enters as the defending US Open champion.
 
Iga Swiatek looms as the strongest challenger, following her Wimbledon triumph and Cincinnati WTA title won in recent months.
 
American star Coco Gauff will look to add a second Grand Slam title to her locker in 2025, following her success at the French Open.
Cheered on by a parochial New York crowd, Gauff remains a serious contender at the US Open.
But it is Venus Williams who will create all the headlines at the US Open, making a tennis comeback at the age of 45.
 
Williams has earned a wildcard to compete in New York and will enter her 23rd US Open tournament.
 
A number of New Zealand players will be taking part, including Erin Routliffe – who just won the Cincinnati Open Women’s Doubles Championship, Michael Venus and Lulu Sun.
 
Throughout the US Open tournament action from all courts and all matches will air live and exclusively on Disney Plus NZ.
 
The Women’s Singles Championship is live on Sunday September 7 and the Men’s Singles Championship will follow on Monday September 8 NZST.
