WESTERN FORCE V THE BRITISH & IRISH LIONS
SATURDAY, JUNE 28
LIVE & EXCLUSIVE ON STAN SPORT FROM 7:15PM AEST
Kurtley Beale is hoping to banish some painful memories when he takes the field for the Western Force in the series opening clash with The British & Irish Lions on Saturday.
Beale infamously slipped while attempting a match winning kick for the Wallabies in the first Test against the Lions in Brisbane in 2013.
The Lions went on to win the series 2-1.
“It was a crucial moment in the series, wasn’t it?” Beale said.
“Plenty of learnings from that day onward. I still haven’t watched it properly, but you learn from that.”
Selected Wallabies squad player Nic White has also been granted release from camp to play for his club in the game which will set the tone for the remaining eight matches.
REDS V THE BRITISH & IRISH LIONS
WEDNESDAY, JULY 2
LIVE & EXCLUSIVE ON STAN SPORT FROM 7:30PM AEST
The Reds are drawing on their proud history against The British & Irish Lions on Wednesday in Brisbane as they look to become the third Queensland team to beat the famous touring side.
Queensland beat the Lions 11-3 in 1899 and 15-11 in 1997.
The Reds will wear a special jersey at Suncorp Stadium honouring those victories.
“The jersey’s unreal – it’s a bit of a throwback jersey paying homage to the 1899 so it’s special,” Lukhan Salakaia-Loto said.
The Reds will also have new signing Aidan Ross available for selection after the Gosford-born, Wallabies-eligible prop played for the Chiefs in the Super Rugby Pacific Grand Final.

After Roland-Garros served up two of the greatest women’s and men’s Finals in history, the stage is set for the oldest and most prestigious tournament in the world at Wimbledon.
Roland-Garros champions Coco Gauff [2] and Carlos Alcaraz [2] narrowed the gap to respective world number one players Aryna Sabalenka and Jannik Sinner following their Paris triumph. The four may well be on a thrilling collision course once again on the grass courts of Wimbledon.
Top ranked Aussies Alex de Minaur [11] and Daria Kasatkina [16] will both have high hopes for their tournament chances, having been former Quarter-Finalists at the famed tournament.
For all the Wimbledon headlines, talking points and highlights, Grand Slam Daily returns throughout the tournament. Host Chris Stubbs will be joined by guests including former Wimbledon Quarter-Finalist Daniela Hantuchová, four-time Grand Slam winner Kim Clijsters and tennis expert Mark Petchey.
