NRLW round 5 on Channel 9 fixture – At the halfway point of the NRLW season, all ten teams feature in another gripping round of footy, live and free this weekend on the 9Network.
The Round 5 action begins on Saturday morning when the Eels play the premiers, the Knights. The Eels have beaten the Knights in three of their four games, and after a tough season in 2023 are sitting on top of the ladder, with only one loss.
On Saturday afternoon, it’s Raiders V Cowboys. Apart from tightening their defence, the Raiders, who have conceded 78 points in their past three games, will bank on winger Madison Bartlett, who has grabbed six tries in her past five home games. Another win will put the Cowboys inside the top four, after skipper Kirra Dibb kicked them home with a field goal last week.
For the latest NRLW news, viewers can turn to the Westpac NRLW Wrap from 2.30pm AEST on Saturday, with Emma Lawrence, Ruan Sims, Allana Ferguson and Marlee Silva.
Plus, footy fans get behind-the-scenes access to the Raiders’ inaugural NRLW season with the premiere of Raiders Rising on Saturday from 3.00pm AEST.
On Sunday, the action continues with an NRLW triple-header. First, the Titans face the Roosters at home from 12.00pm AEST. The Roosters are in top form, with try-scoring winger Jayme Fressard leading the way. Gold Coast top gun Jamie Chapman is also in super touch, with a hat-trick in her past two home games.
Then at 1.45pm AEST, the Wests Tigers take on the Brisbane Broncos. After losing 11 games in a row, the Tigers have rung in the changes. Joining them for the remainder of the season, Montana Clifford has been named in the starting side, along with Tiana-Lee Thorne, who will debut on the wing. The Broncos pose a massive threat after a feast of tries last week from Shenae Ciesiolka, Stacey Waaka and Julia Robinson.
Bringing the weekend to a close, the Dragons face the ladder-leading Sharks at WIN stadium. Dragons fullback Teagan Berry will be out to add to her try tally after jagging seven in her last five games at WIN Stadium.
With Rhiannon Byers the only change to the side that beat the premiers last week, the sharp-toothed Sharks are shooting for a seventh consecutive win.
