Denver Broncos, New England Patriots, Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams fight for trip to Super Bowl LX Live on ESPN this Australia Day Monday – The race to Super Bowl LX is down to the final four as the AFC and NFC Championship Games take centre stage in a huge Australia Day NFL Playoff Double Header live on ESPN with the Denver Broncos meeting the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks facing the Los Angeles Rams.
Monday January 26 will see one of the biggest days of NFL live on ESPN, with back-to-back blockbuster AFC and NFC Championship Games live from 7am AEDT.
Both AFC and NFC Conference Championship games will be live on ESPN, available on Disney+, Foxtel, Kayo Sports, Fetch TV and Sky NZ, as part of the most widely distributed sports network across Australia and New Zealand.
Kicking off the huge day of NFL Playoff action at 7am AEDT is the AFC Conference Championship game between the Denver Broncos and the New England Patriots.
A dream matchup with the AFC number one seed Denver meeting the number two AFC seed New England Patriots, two sides that were neck and neck at the top of the division throughout the regular season.
Denver booked their place in the AFC decider, courtesy of a heart stopping 33-30 overtime win against the Buffalo Bills.
The Broncos were dealt a massive blow in the victory, with starting Quarterback Bo Nix ruled out for the rest of the season with a fractured right ankle.
Backup QB Jarrett Stidman will start in place of Nix against the Patriots, having appeared in just one game this season and three games in 2024.
New England secured a place in the AFC Championship game after a 28-16 win over Houston Texans following a tough contest played in driving snow.
The Patriots leaned heavily on their defence in the win, forcing five turnovers in difficult conditions.
Historically, Denver has not been a happy destination for New England, and now given the Bo Nix injury, pressure and expectation falls on the shoulder of the Patriots young QB Drake Maye – who enters his first AFC Championship game, in just his second season in the NFL.
The Patriots have not contested a Super Bowl since 2019, the end of the Brady-Belichick dynasty. Denver themselves have not reached the Super Bowl since 2016.
Following live at 10.30am AEDT on ESPN, the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams will battle for the NFC Conference Championship.
The Seattle Seahawks are the hottest team in the NFL right now, courtesy of their 41-6 demolition of the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round.
The NFC number one seed showed why they are heavily favoured to progress to Super Bowl LX after an amazing offensive display that began with a 96-yard touchdown off the kickoff.
They will again enjoy home field advantage in the electric atmosphere of Lumen Field as their winning run stretches to nine straight games.
Los Angeles Rams survived another overtime epic to overcome the Chicago Bears 20-17.
The Rams will again look to QB Matthew Stafford, who has been considered a potential league MVP this season.
The two NFC West counterparts push their rivalry into the NFC Championship game.
This will be the third time the two have met this season, with both teams sharing victories during the NFL regular season.
The most recent Seahawks-Rams encounter was back on December 19. A game that became an overtime epic and one of the best NFL games in recent memory, eventually won by Seattle 38-37.
Los Angeles last reached the Super Bowl in 2022, beating the Cincinnati Bengals, with Seattle last appearing in 2015.
The winners of the AFC and NFC Championship games will progress to Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara, which will be live on ESPN Monday February 9.
ESPN will once again deliver an exclusive broadcast dedicated to Australian and New Zealand audience, live from Levi’s Stadium at 10am AEDT.
