Bumper Seven Game Schedule Headlined by Super Bowl Rematch in Week Two NFL on ESPN – ESPN delivers a massive Week Two schedule with SEVEN games including the highly anticipated Super Bowl rematch between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs and divisional clashes between New York Jets and Buffalo Bills, New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys plus Los Angeles Chargers and Las Vegas Raiders.
Week Two NFL action on ESPN begins Friday September 12 at 10.15am AEST when the Washington Commanders meet the Green Bay Packers.
Washington gave their supporter base reason to be optimistic about the season ahead, running out 21-6 winners over the Giants in Week One.
That early season optimism will be tested straight away though, with the Green Bay Packers up next.
The Packers have rocketed to Super Bowl contenders in the eyes of many, thanks to the acquisition of Micah Parsons and the continued development of star QB Jordan Love.
The impact of both already showing in the Packers 27-13 win over divisional rival Detroit.
Monday’s NFL marathon kicks off at 3am AEST with the all-NFC East division clash between the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys.
Two sides that both tasted defeat to open the new season.
The Giants were not in the contest against the Commanders, whilst the Cowboys were handed a hard-fought loss to fierce rivals Philadelphia in Week One.
Dallas showed enough though to convince many they are turning a corner and will be expected to command the all-NFC East clash on Monday morning.
Also kicking off at 3am AEST on ESPN2, the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets meet in another divisional rivalry.
The Bills and Jets were involved in the best two games of NFL Week One, with both ending up on different sides of the ledger.
Buffalo survived to win an epic against Baltimore 41-40, whilst the Jets lost to a returning Aaron Rodgers 34-32.
With both teams contesting the highly competitive AFC East, the pressure will firmly amplify on the team left sitting at 0-2 after this one.
The fixture of the round is at 6.25am AEST with the Super Bowl LIX rematch between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chiefs have redemption on their minds having been torn apart at Super Bowl LIX, falling 40-22 to the rampant Eagles.
Kansas City started off the new campaign with defeat, falling to the impressive Los Angeles Chargers in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Philadelphia meanwhile opened the season on home turf, with a thrilling 24-20 win over Dallas, priming them for another heavyweight showdown in Week Two.
Monday’s NFL fest concludes at 10.15am AEST with the Atlanta Falcons facing off with the Minnesota Vikings.
The Vikings survived a fast-finishing Chicago Bears to claim a 27-24 win in Week One.
Pressure was firmly applied to rookie QB J.J McCarthy, but the young quarterback held his nerve to withstand a last quarter blitz from Chicago.
Michael Penix Jr didn’t enjoy the same result in Week One for the Falcons, as the starting QB continues to settle into life in Atlanta.
The ESPN smorgasbord delivers another NFL double header on Tuesday September 16 – First up at 9am AEST, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in action against the Houston Texans.
Tampa Bay opened the season in the right way – a field goal handing them an opening day win over Atlanta.
Houston could not find their groove against the Los Angeles Rams, slipping to a 14-9 defeat.
Texans QB C.J Stroud will go head-to-head against Baker Mayfield who was the difference between the Buccs and Falcons in Week One. Mayfield finished with a 99.3 rating.
Completing ESPN’s Week Two schedule at 12pm AEST is the AFC West combatants Los Angeles Chargers and the Las Vegas Raiders.
The new era in Las Vegas began the right way – winning in Week One.
New coach Pete Carroll and new QB Geno Smith combined to start the Raiders season at 1-0, continuing Carroll’s perfect record on debut with a new franchise.
Smith also set a new debut record for Las Vegas, throwing 362 yards with a touchdown.
Next up are AFC West combatants, the Chargers, who claimed a major scalp in Week One, defeating defending AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs.
As always, ESPN will deliver comprehensive weekly NFL coverage both on-field and off.
ESPN Australia’s new weekly show ‘NFL Afters’ hosted by ESPN’s Laurie Horesh and Radio star Jimmy Smith, airs every Monday at 8pm on ESPN Australia’s YouTube and Social Media accounts, and across major podcast platforms.
