UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs Spivac is headlined by a heavyweight main event between #7 ranked Derrick Lewis and #12 ranked contender Serghei Spivac.
Sunday’s UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs SpivacMain Card is LIVE on ESPN at 8am AEDT, from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
Derrick Lewis is coming off successive defeats, falling to Australia’s Tai Tuivasa and Sergei Pavlovich in his last two trips to the UFC Octagon.
Having previously fought for the interim UFC Heavyweight championship last year, Lewis has seen his title ambitions dealt a major blow in the ensuing 12 months.
Lewis has showcased his dynamic knockout power previously in the Octagon and one punch could change his career trajectory – with the heavyweight holding an 81% knockout percentage.
Sunday’s opponent Spivac is one of the division’s bright spots, having won six of his last seven fights. Notable victories on his resume include Augusto Sakai, Greg Hardy and Aleksei Oleinik.
Australia’s Jack Della Maddalena also returns to the Octagon at UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs Spivac.
Della Maddalena faces the United Kingdom’s Danny Roberts in a welterweight contest.
Roberts holds an 18-6-0 career MMA record and has the firepower capable of stopping the Australian’s recent run of form.
The 26-year-old Aussie is undefeated since entering the UFC and has ended his last two fights in the opening round.
UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs Spivac Main Card also includes a Light Heavyweight bout between Kennedy Nzechukwu and Ion Cutelaba, Chase Sherman tackles Waldo Cortes Acosta and Andre Fiahlo meets Muslim Salikhov in a Welterweight affair.
