NHL on ESPN – The new National Hockey League season starts Wednesday October 11, where every regular season and post season game is live on ESPN, as the race for the Stanley Cup begins.
ESPN will broadcast every single game of the 2023-24 National Hockey League season, including all NHL Regular Season, NHL Winter Classic, NHL Stadium Series, NHL Playoffs and Stanley Cup Finals games live on the ESPN App, with a minimum of two regular season games each week also available on ESPN and ESPN2.
Stanley Cup Playoffs, including Conference Finals and the Stanley Cup Finals, will also be available on ESPN’s linear channels.
The Las Vegas Golden Knights are the defending Stanley Cup Champions, and a number of sides are circling, looking to capture ice hockey’s crown for themselves.
The Golden Knights open their season and Stanley Cup defence LIVE at 1.30pm AEDT Wednesday October 11 on ESPN2, where they battle Seattle Kraken.
Las Vegas look like again proving the team to beat in the Western Conference, with a Stanley Cup winning roster kept intact and some handy additions like Brendan Brisson only adding to the excitement.
The Kraken are also one to watch this year, having beaten the 2022 champions Colorado to register their first playoff win last season – in just their second year of existence.
The Golden Knights have shown the model to success for new franchises entering the NHL, and the Kraken hope to signal their own Stanley Cup tilt, with victory on the opening day of the new season.
The Golden Knights-Kraken clash is one of three, in a huge NHL season opening triple-header across ESPN.
Tampa Bay Lightning officially kick off the 2022-23 NHL year against the Nashville Predators, which is live on the ESPN App from 8.30am AEDT Wednesday October 11.
The Lightning were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs last year, surprising many. But any team with Nikita Kucherov, Steven Stamkos, Brayden Point and Andrei Vasilevskiy in their lineup is going to remain a serious championship contender.
Chicago Blackhawks and the Pittsburgh Penguins follow at 11am AEDT, live on the ESPN App.
The Blackhawks are an emerging force, with the addition of number one draftee Connor Bedard exciting many in Chicago before the first puck of the season has been dropped.
Pittsburgh’s crop of veteran talent will be looking to hand out an early season lesson though.
National Hockey League fans will also enjoy full match replays and NHL Minis available on the ESPN App.
