Australia Women’s Tour of West Indies Begins Friday Live on ESPN – The Australian Women’s cricket tour of the Caribbean begins Friday March 20 with the first of three Twenty20 internationals against the West Indies.
The West Indies tour represents a new era under captain Sophie Molineux as Australia embark on an historic campaign across Twenty20 and One Day International matches, all live on ESPN on Disney+.
Friday’s opening Twenty20 international is live from 9.30am AEDT, exclusive to ESPN on Disney+.
Sunday March 22 will see the second T20 international, before the series concludes on Tuesday March 24 with the third and final Twenty20.
The West Indies tour will then shift to the fifty-over format, with three One Day Internationals, beginning Saturday March 28, all exclusively live on ESPN on Disney+.
The tour will be the first time that Australia has been led by new captain Sophie Molineux in all formats– who assumes the captaincy after the retirement of Alyssa Healy.
The West Indies tour will also be Molineux’s first as captain on foreign soil.
The West Indies tour represents a new era for Australia, following the recent series against international heavyweights India.
Australia will look to the batting arsenal of Phoebe Litchfield, Beth Mooney and elite all-rounders Ellyse Perry and Ashleigh Gardner.
Leg spinner Alana King could be set for a major series, with favorable conditions expected across the dusty wickets of the Caribbean.
The West Indies will be led by captain Hayley Matthews and vice-captain Chinelle Henry, with dynamic all-rounder Deandra Dottin and Stafanie Taylor potential x-factors for the hosts.
